Now he is my number 1 choice, hes at mediocre Hull at the moment, he has worked with England U21s and knows how to get the best out of youth players (of which we have a abundance), surely he would love the chance to come to a bigger club and work with our excellent youth academy.

Opinions?

Totally agree OJC - he should have been seeked out last time we needed a manager!!!

The guy has all the credentials and has worked wonders at Hull in recent years.

Was possibly deemed a failure at leicester but to be fair those players were never premier league!! Has done exceptionally well with Under 21s both times and is a great coach - which is something we need more than ever right now!! :D

I heard rumors that he is on a fair amount! I dont know much abotu Hull, but isnt their Chairman wealthy?

Anyways, Hull to Ipswich, its not a massive step up, if we were a Premiership club I'm sure he'd jump at the chance, but we're in the same division and plus, he'll probably get more wages and more money to spend on players at Hull.

Now he is the perfect candidate, so Sheepshanks will probably go and do the totally opposite and give the job to Ron Atkinson

I would say its a massive step up, I know we have the financial constraints but being able to work with the masses of excellent youth players we have here might appeal to him, Joe was'nt able to get the best out of all of them, someone like PT might jump at the chance.

He would be stupid to come here, hes got Preston into the play offs two seasons in a row.

After failing twice with Preston in the playoffs he may well be tempted to try somewhere else.

I think he'd be a great appointment.

Totally agree about Taylor although i'd be very surprised if he could be tempted to Portman Road (although i can't see a Prem club taking a chance at the moment)

Billy Davis is okay but a bit uninspiring. McCarthy has been mentioned on another thread and, though i think he's a bog brush head, could do a job

Oveerated IMO he may have got Hull promoted twice but they had more supporters and more financial clout than any other team, plays boring football and was absolutely hopeless when he got a shot at the big time with Leicester, Parkinson and Davies are twice the manager he is and although some might argue hes unproven, give me Mowbray as manager over him anyday!
