Another sickening late goal, but can we make top 2?
In all seriousness, we outplayed Blackburn for 94 minutes and fully deserved victory.
8 unbeaten, I personally don't fear anybody in this league (blue tinted glasses firmly OFF).
Why can't we aim for the top 2 this season?! 2 set pieces have cost us from being joint top this afternoon.
I'm ridiculously excited for the rest of the season.

We did this last season and dropped far to many points from winning positions and then missed out on the play offs by 2. It has to stop. MM/TC teach the players to kill the game , ball in opposing half, by the corner flag it isn't rocket science, all good teams and successful teams do it. Please sort it out. Like you said we could be equal top now and the confidence would flowing. Now we go to Cardiff and will get the jitters near the end.TractorBoys91 wrote:In all seriousness, we outplayed Blackburn for 94 minutes and fully deserved victory.

Can't see it myself as just don't think we will win enough matches over the season to get a top 2 place.
I have no doubt we will continue to be hard to beat and imo we might scrap into the top 6 if we are lucky with injuries and suspensions. As Derick stated we have got to start seeing games out especially when leading in them late on.
Tbh if the Football league guaranteed us a 6th place finish now I would bite their hands off.

I agree shed.
I'd have taken this before the season started for sure.
I'm just really enjoying being an ITFC supporter at the moment because we finally have a direction and belief.
It's exciting times again and as a fan what more can you ask for...

I think we have as good chance as anyone of making the top two, we are on an un beaten 8 game run and playing well, yes we dropped another Two points at the death but I would be more concerned if we were playing poorly which we arent, we had a few key players out today and still should have won well, i am very positive for the season ahead.

no don't think it will occur. Not being a pessimist but a realist. The inconsistencies of the early season dragged us back a significant distance, and while the reversal of fortune has been impressive, until these frequent late defensive errors and opposition goals can be eradicated, it's going to be too tough a task to finish in the automatic promotion places. It would be a great achievement to even make the top six it has to be said and have another opportunity for that last place in the EPL by end of season, and that's going to be a far more feasible finish.

If this keeps up we might have to start thinking about sorting a mini-bus out for Wembley next May.JonnoTown wrote:I agree shed.

Im still on the fence with this "Top Two" thing.....However it is very pleasing to see the long suffering Town fans having their belief back going into every game....Long may it continue.

There will be many Millwall fans who didn't see that comeback. Unfortunate for Wolves as they should've scored in the last seconds to make it 4-3. Unlucky Wolfie.

Top two is a huge ask and probably a bit too ambitious, but the fact that we're now considering it to be a possibility says a lot about how high confidence is right now, which is never a bad thing. With the way things have been going so far, you can't rule it out for sure.

to be honest Marco, we should never have gone 3 up in the first place. Millwall were the better team from the start, I say we gained a point there not lost 2. we seemed to have hit a wall in recent games but are still hanging in there,
I think this league is going to be fairly open this season as I've not seen any strong teams yet, (well until the 4th Nov)

Re: Another sickening late goal, but can we make top 2?
??? Wow! Didn't read the full report Wolfie, but "a point gained"? 3-0 up? Was it three counter attacks? Millwall must be utter sh*te in front of goal if they were better than Wolves.
Three goal leads , for me , is the cut off point whereby I feel the winning team should win. Last seasons ITFC game v Derby was so feckin irritating. Pretty sure that irritated feeling lasted for a few days for the travelling fans.

Its strange how we started the season where we never let goals in but didn't score many but were winning. now we score the goals but let shed loads in. we cant even blame injuries, its just these kids are learning that this league takes no prisoners, but there come good so not to many complaints. but as you say 3-0 up should be a win but we were never in charge of the play..
