IT v Cardiff
I am looking forward to Tuesday's game it will be stiff test for both our teams. After our win today against Forest and a much more balanced performance I feel confident of a very rare win against Town. This should be a good game and I hope those of you who are making the long journey a safe one.
Tips for eating and drinking near the CCS. There is good pub at the entrance to the Stadium. Entry only allowed if you are having a meal on match day. There is a KFC and Macdonalds on the Stadium Complex. Across the road in the Shopping Area there is a Greggs and a couple of Coffee Shops. Asdas have a good caffe serving hot meals. M&S have a food hall and coffee shop as does Nextt. The Casino advertises itself as a drinking venue but I know very little about it.
All are cheaper than inside the Stadium and it's common to see visiting fans using these venues.
However I would not suggest that you wander away from this area to the pubs in the Canton area as the local idiots frequent these and can be uncomfortable to say the least.
Anyway have a good journey and enjoy the game

I fear for the Cardiff City youths....... With a KFC, McDonalds and Greggs all at the stadium..... Is there any hope?
And Derick...... A live stream of ITFC fans wandering around to the Canton Area? Yeah, that'd be worth watching!

Hi Pathy it looks like you boys might have turned a corner, so not the best time to go to Cardiff for us. Your right it will be a stern test for both sides but strangly i feel both sides will go into this one fairly confident.
Always had a little soft spot for Cardiff as i have some Cardiff supporting friends a little older than me. They have had a checqerd past regarding football hooliganism but that was decades ago. Now they are just football crazy decent supporters.
May thebest team win....hopefully us.

Re: IT v Cardiff
Wasn't decades ago, PBB. There was a documentary on hooliganism about 4 years ago and the guy went undercover,......, in both Millwall & Cardiff. The hooliganism is still there, just not as bad. Much the same as Hibs....., there is still a smattering of arseholes, just not as bad as 70s/80s.
I'd take pathays advice and NOT wander around to this Canton area he talks about......., you'll be met by a bottle thrown by a bluebird tattooed hand! Keep safe ITFC fans.
Regarding the football itself......., Banker draw for me. 0-0 or 1-1.

2-0 Town win. 100% confident of this. Bru & McGoldrick with 2 first half stunners. This win will also put us above the scum into 4th place.

Marko that documentary was much further back than 4 years it was in Sam Hammans era. But unfortunately there are a few idiots amongst fans and it only needs one small thing to set them off. However in and around the Stadium there is no place for these people any more and those real fans have in the past years confronted trouble makers and handed them over to stewards with the result it is a safe place for families which have earned the club awards for just that. Voted last year as the best away experience for fans in the Premiership.marko69 wrote:Wasn't decades ago, PBB. The Canton area which I refer to is not a bad place but the pubs on match day are full of home supporters and there still some idiots who haven't got the message yet.
However going back to the football having seen our improvement on Saturday I am quietly confident that we can dispel that bogey that you seem to have over us. Whatever the result I feel we see a good game.

Re: IT v Cardiff
Apologies, Pathay, the documentary was about the Cardiff City Soul Crew, made in 2002, about the hooliganism around at the time...... It was shown again by the BBC in 2011, that's where I got my 3 or 4 years ago from.
But my point was, it certainly wasn't decades ago.
I even correct people nowadays when they say it's completely safe at Easter Road for away fans. I wouldn't be 100% on that. All away fans are usually let away from the ground a good 10 minutes before the home support. Even when Hibs fans leave with ten minutes to go, (usually with half an hour to go these days
) they need to go the long way around if they want to head for London Road as the police have it all barricaded. Maybe THATS why people think it's so safe. There will always be the ones who are out for disrupting the game.
So are you thinking "home win" on Tuesday then, Pathay?

Yep . I've never felt confident against IT (a club I have respect for) but I have a feeling in my weater this time and I don't think its a need for antibiotics. There. Was a new attitude to our game against Forest which was encouraging. But I am a realist and anything can happen during that 90 minutes. Come rain or shine I will be there .marko69 wrote:Apologies, Pathay, the documentary was about the Cardiff City Soul Crew, made in 2002, about the hooliganism around at the time...... I was refering to my Cardiff supporting friends and not Cardiff city supporters in general Marko. Im aware that every club still has has an hooligan element unfortunately . sad to see some people never grow up and find a Little more in life to feel passionate about without the violence. Both Steve and Alan were the well know Soul city crew(think thats what they called themselves) but in thier early fifteis now have left that well behind them. I never saw the documentary your refering to mate, but once youve seen one youve seen them all.
Back to the game tomorrow I feel positive for a change and Im sure Mick will have the boys fired up.
