Hoodoo
Time to put the Watford Hoodoo to bed we have not beaten them at PR since March 2004 when we won 4-1. It would be nice to repeat that on Saturday.

Re: Hoodoo
Great point Ashford. However at home should you alter your formation to disrupt the visiting team or stick to your normal plan and believe that your players will simply score more goals? ITFC are in great nick and our strikers have goals in them for sure. I reckon (for first half at least) MM should stick with it and trust the gameplan which we know works......go a goal up (or two!?) then perhaps mix it up for the second half?ashfordblue wrote:If we can do what Birmingham done against them and don't be afraid to mix it and attack, then we could get a result here, Rowlett used 4-2-3-1 formation to smash up Watford's strikers, plus it depends what front row they put out, Forestieri, Vydra, & Deeney will want some handling, so don't invite them to attack us get in there like we did with Wolves and stop any passing moves
Mourinho is the master of looking at key games, usually away fixtures, saying 'right I'm happy with a point here' and organising his team accordingly. When you are clear at the top of the league then you have the luxury of a wider range of tactical options. In my opinion.
Anyway the point of this rambling is, that I think, we should just go for it!! 3-1 to The Town..........COYB!!

Re: Hoodoo
There was a time when we used to beat Watford every time we played them scoring three or four goals each time just for fun, however I accept this came to an abrupt halt some 10 years ago. The last couple of years though we've been a much better match for them even though they've had one of their strongest squads during this period.
Looking at their more recent performances they've only won two of their six played away at Blackpool & Sheff Wed, drawing at Middlesbrough & Blackburn and losing at Birmingham & Charlton.
This is hardly the sort of away form we should be worried about and evey good reason why we should attack them with zest and confidence looking for a win rather than setting up not to lose.
I suspect MM will have been given a tremendous boost by wining against Wolves, I just hope he has the belief that we can do exactly the same to Watford.

Yes we should attack! Watford are only two points ahead of us, so there's no reason to be cautious. Any team can win in this division, especially at home.

Re: Hoodoo
It is a myth that they are our bogey side, yes in recent years they have had the upper hand but overall there is little in it over the course of the head to head record.
