Quote: 2 injuries away from a poor run.

Yip. This thought will be floating around all ITFC fans heads.

OK, let me get this straight. After reading their comments, I have come away with two things...

1. Ipswich is the only team in the Championship that would be affected by two injuries. Those injuries arent really specified as to who, but any two will sink Ipswich while the other teams will come away with a laugh.

2. Ipswich plays boring, tight, controlled hoofball which really isnt football in any way shape or form. Instead Ipswich slings the ball around so no other team can play pretty football and Ipswich simply doesn't lose. I have heard this a ton this year, where it is becoming "common knowledge" instead of "fact." What perplexes me the most is we didn't hear this under RK or PJ. The result? We are averaging about 2.5 goals a game under the hoofball, boring game and were at a stellar .41 goals under the other two. But that was exciting.

Bearing in mind Ohio these people are morons of the highest order who have the brain power of slugs. Anyone with any nous will tell you we do not hoof the bloody ball any more than anyone else does. I take no notice of this type of crap to be honest, according to Bob Peeters Charlton were unlucky last night LOL. Dead man walking.

Mike is right Buckeye, morons.

I went last night fully expecting to get a sore neck from following the ball through the air but it didn't happen. When we did play a long ball, it was just that a long considered pass that more often than not landed where intended. The only time we hoofed it yesterday was to clear our lines. Show me one side that doesn't do that.

It's a common trait that follows Mick around that his teams play hoof ball. After last night that couldn't be further from the truth.

As I said in the match thread, I was entertained and we were apparently off the boil. Can't wait to see us firing on all cylinders.

Your point number 1 Ohio makes no sense to me. You think the derby fan was only referring to Ipswich gaining injuries? I think he was indeed referring to Ipswich, but also knowing that a number of clubs in the top 6 could sustain injuries.

The club will need to have good cover for the next 5 months, because injuries to any of the "4 Championship select XI" would be problematic to the cause.

We should have been stuffed the last few games then as Two first team regulars Luke Hyam & Tyrone Mings have been out injured LOL, utter crap.

In my opinion, people are talking about strikers here. For years, ITFC have been without decent strikers....., They've had Jason Scotland and Dipshitskin amongst others...., they really struggled to find the target. They have solved that with Murphy & McGoldrick and any crucial injury to either could make or break the season. The team have "gelled" around those two. I'm not trying to make Derby fan out to be a f**king genius or anything, but I'm fairly sure, probable injury to either of the front two is a lingering worry in an ITFC supporters noggin.

Yeah but marko to me it is stating the bleeding obvious, if Derby were to lose Martin & Russell they would be fooked, just the same as any other club, I just fail to see the point of it all, besides we can take anyone in on loan up to March should the need arise.

My number 1 confuses you, marko? Probably because THEY confused me. It seemed what they were saying was directly at Ipswich when he said if we got two injuries, we would basically fall apart. Like Bluemike says, I think we have had them.

You are right Don, this has followed Mick around. It was also pointed out later that this boring footie works really well in the Championship, but Mick basically gets it handed to him in the PL with this style of play. My point is, what style of play? I dont think they are accurate (as you pointed out) so how can it work here and not in PL? Dizzying.

Yea, two main strikers injured would cause probs to Ipswich. And Derby. Middlesbrough. Brentford. Norwich. Charlton. ... Just seemed a silly comment to make.

It is indeed obvious. I was merely trying to understand Ohio's point number 1. That reads like the Derby fan was saying that Ipswich will sustain injuries when every other club won't. That's not what Derby fan was saying. Why did Ohio interpret it like that? That was my only issue.

Stoke go season after season hoofing the bloody thing and they are given a huge pat on the back for punching above their weight every year.

Got it, Ohio. I suppose we all interpret things differently. I've gone back and read the derby fans comments again and STILL don't get how you come to that conclusion! Forums are f**king superb eh?

Because it seemed as if he was simply dismissing Ipswich by saying that two injuries would do us in, so we wont be a factor the rest of the year. At least the way I read it. As bluemike's two post show, it would affect everyone.

Possibly because of comments like this Marko.
They do, however, rely on Murphy and McGoldrick entirely almost. An injury or a dip in form of these two and they can slip up, as they did last season.

I have a question now. I was of the opinion that no players should be sold this January, and we should be careful bringing in a player since we seem to have such good chemistry. What do you guys think we should do?

 Maybe you both are being a bit too protective towards the club....., maybe thinking every comment is "downing" the club. I read it as he meant it...... An injury to a crucial player could fk things up, and that's true. Did he have to mention every other f**king club to get his point across?

Well who's going to bang in the goals if either get injured, Ohio? Rely on Smith & Berra again? Recently they were playing great football according to reports but couldn't score in a bag of fannies. If it wasn't for Murphy being on the end of some of these moves, being in the right place, the club WOULD be 7th or 8th.

Talking of Tamas and whoever, I wonder how well they would have done under the likes of McCarthy. Murphy has been here three times and it's only since playing under him that he now becomes golden.

Although priskin was never prolific before, I just wonder how things would have been for him had he not been under the control of a thunderc**t

I am 100% sure we wont sell anyone other than the dead wood of Nouble, Veseli, Wordsworth and tithead Taylor, I would also be surprised to see anyone come in although this may be a decent addition.
Town are reported to be one of a number of Championship clubs interested in Leicester striker Chris Wood.

According to the Daily Mirror AFC Bournemouth, Wolves and the Blues are all eyeing the 23-year-old, who is Tommy Smith’s room-mate when they are on international duty with New Zealand. The Championship-leading Cherries would appear to be the frontrunners.

Wood is yet to start for the Foxes since their promotion to the Premier League, having scored eight goals last season, four in the Championship, four in the Capital One Cup.

Born in Auckland, Wood started his British career with West Brom, spending time out on loan with Barnsley, Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol City, Millwall and Leicester before joining the Foxes permanently for £2 million in January 2013.

Speaking on Monday, Town boss Mick McCarthy said he was in no hurry to add to his squad during the January transfer window, believing it would be difficult to improve on the players already at his disposal.

However, the Blues would currently appear to be short of an experienced striker, although it seems likely that Noel Hunt will rejoin Town at some stage during January, the Irishman’s current loan from Leeds having come to an end following yesterday’s 3-0 home victory over Charlton.

Yes, and it was simply used to dismiss Ipswich seemingly.

Thunderc**t Don? Can I use that over here?

Really good question about Priskin. I know marko loved him, but I feel he could have done better and Mick could have been the guy!

And where would Derby be if Martin was injured, or Boro with Leadbitter, or Bournemouth with Wilson, Im sorry but it is the biggest load of tosh I have read in ages.

Oh my God, bluemike. I had forgotten Nouble and Wordsworth were still on Town's billing. :astroll:

They may go. Good point on Wood, liked to see the quote from MM that he is not anxious to add to the team and what he has now. Unless we get two injuries...

You guys shouldn't be giving a Roy Keanes Thundercunt about what is relevant to other clubs. Quite simply, one or two crucial injuries, and it could potentially go pear shaped, for Ipswich.

YES YES YES....... AND FOR OTHER CLUBS TOO....... FFS!

Blues boss Mick McCarthy says he’s in no hurry to add to his squad during the January window, believing that it would be difficult to recruit players better than those already at Portman Road.

“I’m not that bothered, I’m not desperately seeking any others,” McCarthy said. “The reason for that is where am I going get them that are better than the players I’ve got?

“There’s always that age old problem of getting players to come in on loan. If I can get better than I’ve got in on loan, they want to come and play in the team straight away. I’d be doing very well if I could do better than what I’ve got on loan, that’s for sure.

“And then do I start signing players [on a permanent basis]? I’m not going to do that, we’re not going to be going out and buying anybody.

“I’m not fussed, we’ve got the loans that we can take and I’m cool with what we’ve got. And it might have the adverse effect, bringing them in.”

He added: “Unless, and the players are the same as I am, if we could get somebody that would strengthen the squad, enhance our chances of being in the same position at the end of the season as we are now, all the players would take that. But that’s that fine balancing act.

“And do you know, I don’t know if they’re available. It’s a shitty old window anyway, the January window. You tell me how many really good bits of business people do.”

He says there is a tendency to make panic signings, particularly at Premier League level where emergency loans aren’t available outside the window.

“We’ve got until March in which we can take a loan deal to supplement the squad in case we get an injury,” McCarthy continued.

“I think that month, more so for Premier League clubs because they can’t do anything when it’s shut, it does make you go out and panic and feel you’ve got to get something in and the reality is that I don’t know how many of those deals make such a big difference.

“If we can get somebody, of course we will. We’re looking but we haven’t got any plates spinning that are going to fall on my head immediately.”

He says that in any case there are positive aspects to having a smaller squad: “There is nothing worse than sulky-faced players who aren’t playing, nothing worse at all. And those that do that only let their team-mates down anyway.

“There is an advantage to having the guts of the squad involved every week. There are 18 in the squad, there might only be a couple sat in the stand. At least if gives them a chance of being involved.

“If you’ve got four or five disenchanted and they’re staying here and having to train with the U21 squad, that’s not great.”

In terms of possible exits, McCarthy said: “They’re all under contract, long-term contracts, all of them. I cannot stop bids at all. I can’t stop interest. I’m delighted there’s interest.

“Funnily enough two years ago sat here nobody cared about any of us, they didn’t even know where Ipswich was or what they were doing, ‘They’re struggling, it’s in Holland somewhere, isn’t it?’.

“Now, of course, we’ve got all this interest and I’m supposed to get upset and worried about it. Not in the slightest.”

He reiterated that owner Marcus Evans illustrated his willingness to turn down bids in the summer.

“I’m sure Marcus is enjoying it more this year than he was last year and the year before because I certainly am, we all are. Everybody is," he continued.

“I said on Friday, that’s the support that I want when somebody comes knocking. And I said if somebody comes in and upsets them with a bid then it’s up to me to deal with it and upset them for a second time and tell them ‘no’.”

There ya go Ohio.
