Odds to win Th Championship or be promoted.

Post by Charnwood » Sat Jan 03, 2015 12:25 am

Town remain fourth favourites to win The Championship at 5/1 behind Bournemouth 15/8, Derby 9/4 and Middlesbrough 5/2. After these four teams there's a significant jump to Watford at 11/1. Clearly the bookies see it as a four horse race. I wonder how this will change if we manage a win v Derby next weekend.

Odds for promotion to the Premiership are:

Bournemouth 8/15
Derby 4/6
Middlesbrough 19/20
Ipswich 6/4

best odds on the Wolves is 10/1 to 8/1.( I'm putting me shirt on us at that price, I could do with 10 new shirts.)
cant see how Brentford can be 6/1.

15/8 Bournemouth? They can ram that up their hole. I'd be wanting 10/1 minimum for that Shyte to happen. Don't care how well they are playing, they ain't winning the league. Quite willing to have egg on my face in May if that comes true. Bournemouth win the league? No chance.

I don't see Bournemouth as favorites for the league (either). Ok, they've done well, caused quite a sensation, but feel there's other teams who deserve to be picked first. Maybe it's just the idea of a club side like bournemouth - with all due respect - going up to the premier league and being favorites ahead of anyone else. If it was a more recognized club i don't think it would be such an issue.

But so long as we're involved also and part of the discussion, then that's the all important.

I believe they can keep going and they've done so well up to now, why bet against them. Pity is, in any 'normal' season, I'd wish them well and give them every encouragement for a place in next seasons EPL, but this time, they happen to be in our way and a rival for a very important prize. I'm sure a number of Derby and Middlesbrough fans feel similar.

Bournemouth are by far the best team we have played, underestimate them at your peril.

They certainy know how to score goals even after selling their top scorer Lewis Grabban before the season even started.

Mind you, I bet he wishes he stayed at Bournemouth.

Pleased to see IT doing so well . As I predicted at the beginning of the season under Mick it was always going to be and I would put you one of the favourites for automatic. But don't write down Bournemouth because they are a good side way above anything else we have seen down here in Cardiff. The Play Offs are still open but we at Cardiff have all but given up hope of joining the top six despite being well tipped at the beginning of the season, Our season so far has been pathetic. The atmosphere around the club has been so negative with the fan base split over the rebrand, falling crowds all I believe rubbing off on the players. But things may change with the expected announcement today that the rebrand is going to be reversed and we are ditching the red and going back to BLUE. This will at least unite the club so we are pulling together. But anyway all the best for the rest of the season and may your long tenancy in the Championship come to an end.
