Interesting stats and to take it further shows we are doing pretty well.

Last Six Results

Bournemouth WWWLWL

Middlesbrough LWDDWW

Ipswich WWWLWL

Derby LDWWWL

Brentford WWLLWW

Watford WWLWLW

Very very similar records over a six game spell so just who are the points coming against

Bournemouth - Played no-one from the top six
Middlesbrough- Played Ipswich from top six
Ipswich - played Brentford, Middlesbrough & Derby from top six
Derby - Played Middlesbrough & Ipswich from top six
Brentford - Played Ipswich from top six
Watford - Played no-one from top six

So it is clear to see that despite us having the hardest fixtures over the last six games we are more than holding our own, lets see if the others can say the same over the next six fixtures when we play Wigan, Rotherham, Sheff Wed, Fulham, Reading & Birmingham.

Brighton are a team on the up and in a false position, a new manager and one defeat in six shows that.

Interesting reading guys. Points in the bag and a healthy GD will what counts at the end of the season.

The scarry bit from my perspective is our run in in that last month compared to our rivals!

FFS man, did you have to? I'm just getting myself together after having a meltdown over last nights results and now you're getting my hopes up again.

I'm a town fan, I can't be dealing with all this optimism. Justified and factual or not.

Take a look at our rivals run ins, most of them have some top sides to play, we have Four home games against Bournemouth which is clearly a massive game, Blackpool, Cardiff and Forest so not horrendius by any means, we alos go to Huddersfield, Wolves and Blackburn, tricky but nothing currently in the top six.

Think March could be a crucial month for us.

Norwich(a)
Leeds(a)
Brentford(h)
Middlesbrough(a)
Bolton(h)
Watford(a)

Then we have Bournemouth at home on the 3rd April.

At least these are all genuine difficult matches and not "banana skin" games against lowly opposition, cos it's these games against lowly teams fighting for their lives that we tend to come unstuck against.

Charny

Usually this is the case although this season our record against the current bottom 6 sides is very impressive.

At the moment we have played 8 games against them, won 7 and lost 1 (the Brighton game the other night).

Anyhow, as they say just concentrate on one game at a time, the next game being the most important.

Many games in this season's Championship are won or lost on fine margins - with no 'easy' or totally predictable outcomes. On the day every team has the ability to get a result, irrespective of past form, or league position. With no team, or teams, clearly superior makes it probably our best chance of promotion success. Don't think there have been many thrashings dished out, with many games being decided by the odd goal. MM has acknowledged this on many occasions.

Consistency, therefore, has to be the magic bullet over the remaining games. We have shown that, despite Derby and Brighton, we have the players able to achieve this. Factors that might, however, impact upon our ability to recapture consistency required include: strength and quality of squad; best midfield mix; injuries; players maintaining form; confidence etc. All issues discussed extensively in the past, with a spectrum of differing opinions. In the end, time will tell - but it won't be through lack of effort or hard work.

Probably we should all panic and run around with our hands in the air because we have absolutely no influence on any of the games. Looking forward to coming over for the Bournemouth game though if we are still in the mix.
