This season we have had 3 bad months of results.
August 5pts
October 3pts
January 4pts
We have also had 3 good months.
September 13pts
November 13pts
December 13pts
So with 3 months and 1 game in May we are very much on course for the play offs at least, and lets be honest we all would of took that at the start of the season. So lets look forward to February where are can see us getting 11pts minimum,9pts in March, 12pts in April and 1pt in May to give us a total of 84pts.

Good, positive, approach! Which, for those of us who at PR yesterday, is very welcome.

But that game's gone now, and feel sure MM/TC will pick over the bones, and the why's and wherefore's, and get them going again, starting next week at Rotherham. The scenario you outline is totally achieveable. Continue to believe, keep the faith!

Agree with you Derick, unfortunatley for some yesterdays match will have more bearing and rellevance than the run of Two defeats in Twenty Three games which we all enjoyed not long ago, Suffolk mentality I am afraid. I agree we would all have jumped at a play off place at the start of the season, but for me the Top two are still very much on.

Looking at those points per months....... Mick needs to get the consistency "balance" sorted. When it's a good month, they are consistenly good, (13pts)..... And consistently Shyte in a bad month, (3pts)
Let's have 8 or 9 points a month until Seasons End Michael, that'll do it.

I dont even look at August or January Marko, all teams will have a bad month or two. I look at October when we pissed away SIX points in the 90+ minutes against Forest, Blackburn & Huddersfield, but for that couple of minutes we would be comfortably top.

Not sure about Suffolk mentaility Mike, just football fans mentality as a whole.
However whilst we must all be proud of how the Town squad has developed to the level it has on bugger all funds to be spending over half the season in or around the top 2 or 3. The issue that I feel sure cannot be disputed is that we must added to our squad further still, in order to have any hope of lasting the distance.
Key players ARE faltering in form, and reinforcements are need in order to give those players both a rest and competition for their places. If we dont add, i can see us dropping away as the season grinds on, and bodies become tired and more injuries, or just mental fatigue creeps in.
If we dont secure a couple of new faces in the loan window I shall be majorly disappointed because i see this season as our best chance on over a decade to get promoted.

Can't speak for Derick, but I think the thread was born out of frustration at these booing twats at Portman Road. Like you say, Hallam, absolutely zero funds and sitting in the top 4, and recognising the talent that he has chosen to keep and play. MM would never admit to "knowing" he's doing a great job, (he is) but these boo boys could definitely make him feel slightly bemused, and THAT will definitely p*ss the majority of the fans off. I couldn't quite believe it when J4CK 22 posted that there were boo-ers. As the thread states...... Get a bit perspective you assholes!

We definitely have an element that change quicker than the wind, it goes from "The Town are going up" to "Booooooo" within a week and on the back of a couple of iffy results, we are pretty bad for it I have to say.

Believe me Mike, if it's any consolation Leicester City fans are even worse.
Town fans never used to be bad, is this just a new generation of fans or is this something that's been changing gradually.

Im not really sure who they were booing at tho. The ref and his asstants were some of the poorest weve had here in some weeks. But the quality of refs at PR, overall has been bloody abysmal to say the least. Maybd its directed at them as much as disappointment of perhaps the worst Town performance ive seen at PR in a long time, and on a freezing day. There was absolutely NOTHING to sing or get excited about. A truly Shocking game.

Did sections of the support jeer or show disapproval when say Keane or Jewell was in charge of team affairs and we were witness to regular disappointing scores and lackluster performances ? We should remember, it only a few short seasons back. For the last time, fair enough if people want to criticize (inclding those who castigate the offenders themselves) but Portman Road doesn't offer the cheapest seats in the house and with all the relevant issues involved i.e. missed opportunity, lack of entertainment etc, irrespective of where you find yourself in the league there will always be a minority who resort to player disapproval. Take a seat at Bournemouth sometime and see what occurs when they put in a poor effort or a team faliure arises. We can only hope the players next time redeem themselves and no further crowd frustration becomes apparent.
As with some other responses if we do (and believe that will come to pass) get a play-off position by end of season then really it will have been a very good achievement. Had they offered it back in August you damn well would have taken it without hesitation. (The fact of the matter is) Derby and Middlesbrough for one thing are better equipped - and more importantly more consistent - than ourselves to make the automatic promotion places this season.
That's all the perspective required.

Yes Charny I dont doubt there are some worse than us. I don't think it is a new generation, I have thought for a few years now that some Town fans are about as Knee Jerk as you can get, I have even been in the stands at away games and seen it from one half to the next, it beggars belief at times.

Biggest fight I ever saw at a game was between two Hibs fans.

An ex Jambo took to the field for Hibs, but this complete knob shouted, "Aw great, bring on the Jambo Cnt!" ...., this other guy whirled round and connected sweetly on the guys jaw..... Which of course started a bit of a bigger fight amongst all their pals etc.

Really was quite Hilarious. Was early 90's though, so expected. Nowadays, everyone is cozy and we all get on!

Think you will find that our fans are no different to other teams.
Had a read on the Bournemouth forum after last night's result and half of them have gone into meltdown. According to them they should have strengthened in the transfer window and may not even make the playoffs.
Must admit one of the funniest things I have seen at a Town away game (can't remember which one) was when we had put in a poor performance and as the players came over at the end of the game this bloke was actually booing them and clapping at the same time.

Maybe he was clapping Bru or more likely he was an idiot lol.. anyone who boo`s should be made to wear a budgie shirt for the week..better still have it super glued on..That would be a good deterrent
