Another Championship Manager Goes
Pearce from Forest.
No surprise really given their results and the money spent.

Despite the results there will be many fans sad to see him leave which is probably why he's been offered an alternative role at the club.

Cant believe he lasted as long as he did. The new manager has a very decent squad to work with and they could easily be late challangers for play offs!

Re: Another Championship Manager Goes
I seem to remember some of us saying he would not last when he was appointed. Sadly, he not successful manager material and should have been judged on his previous non-achievements before being given the post.

Could be late challengers Hallam, although I personally doubt it. If you go on some news links regarding his dismissal, many Forest fans are saying they are fearing relegation.

Think it will depend on who they get in. But if Forest fans are saying that, its amazing how quickly they have lowered their sights, given how strong Forest have been over last couple of seasons. They have a decent squad IMO. Its all about motivation. And at Ipswich we are lucky to have the best at that.

In a results driven business, even the best loved legends have a finite shelf-life. I've always thought of Pearce as a fundamentally good guy, a natural leader on the pitch but not away from it. Perhaps better suited to be somebody's assistant? (Believe that Paul Daniels is thinking of replacing Debbie McGee
)
I wonder if many Forest fans are chanting RK's name?

Re: Another Championship Manager Goes
Most certainly hope they do not get the curse of RK.
Town winning the FA cup in 78 when I was 9 made me a huge fan......, but watching Forest beat Malmo in the 79 European Cup Final, almost converted me to them, as a 10 year old. As a result, I look out for both ITFC and Forest......, So in the nicest possible way, a massive fk off to RK.

Another ex Forest player Dougie Freedman already appointed, that was quick.

Gives him 24 hours in the transfer market as well to sort all Forests ailments.

Undisputed fan favorite but soccer is a results business. Like Ardiles and Keegan before him, Pearce was an icon to the respective support but chairmen only look out for one thing. Nottingham were going good a few short weeks recent and one of the candidates for an automatic promotion so maybe the new name can bring them back to something approaching their previous stature. Should have been given a chance at international level also.

Re: Another Championship Manager Goes
Forest chief executive Paul Faulkner has resigned less than 24 hours after Stuart Pearce was sacked as manager. It seems like Forest are in a bit of a mess at the moment.
I think we should count ourselves very lucky having such an experienced manager as Mick McCarthy at the helm especially when you see what going on elsewhere in the Championship.
Maybe some of our fans should realise this before they turn on him and the team at the first sign of a blip. In my opinion we should all be doing our very best to make him feel very happy here.

I don't need to reiterate that I got faith in what our manager can produce and wouldn't want any other name in charge right now but we've not only been through a poor last month but it was an indifferent start to the season. And yes, a loss to Crawley in a cup tournament was an embarrassment, even if it is a third rate competition. I'm going to save myself any further time on this and say in the simplest terms I realize we're not exactly a duplication of the Hungarian team of the 1950s here but have put together a decent set-up that can challenge and sometimes often enough the players haven't lived up to expectation. Some on a rival site at the weekend were actually calling for McCarthys departure..
Yes it's an asinine way of thinking, especially after the work put forward in making us recognized once again but it only takes a small minority to set something in motion before a greater amount makes up the numbers.

So far as I can see the majority of folk on this forum, whilst disappointed at recent results and obviously wanting MM to strengthen, are nevertheless able to retain a good grip on the bigger picture and remain rooted in reality. Not the same, however, on other forums - but then there are a few more hysterical keyboard warriors over there!

Well TB.com needs at least one, Herforfer.
*sigh* Ok, I'll do it.
You need to get a fking grip Mick..... What were you thinking with the shitty, pointless subs in that pathetic excuse for a football match against Wigan? Get that sorted or Fk off to Accrington Stanley or sumfin....., that's your level!
Dear God, Mick if you do by any chance read this forum...... I'm joking. Honest.

Don't worry Marko, Mick will know that all Scots are as honest as the day is long. The longer the day, the more honest they get! (Only joking - honest!)marko69 wrote:Well TB.com needs at least one, Herforfer.
