This may be the last job he had.

I guess it saved him the stigma of getting sacked.
Knee operation, that's a new one. I'm sure it could have waited till the summer.

According to SSN Tim Sherwood is the favorite, But he's been that for every vacant job since he was sacked by spurs

No, he's going to Sherwood Forest.

I'm sure this was brought up before (knees that as) and he had stayed on this season following promotion.

Diplomatic/tactical substitution in progress. Certainly not about money!

There's no way McCarthy will be going to QPR. Redknapp is often berated as something as a bad manager but he's done OK here and there including getting Tottenham into the European Cup a few short seasons back. They should have appointed him as English national coach instead of the lackluster Hodgson. It's still not too late but believe he'll end up somewhere else in the EPL, possibly Aston Villa (or Everton) as both managers are just about clinging to their respective jobs.

Having his fabulous family home situated on what's probably the most expensive road in Britain, I can't really see Harry ever going anywhere North of London.
As herforder says, he certainly doesn't need the money.

'Arry's 67 years old now. That's going to be his last management job IMO. I reckon he got frustrated at his inability to persuade players to join him in the window that just closed. He was quite public about a couple of players he wanted but couldn't get in. Otherwise he might have elated his op until the Summer. I don't think it is an emergency.
Listening to Clive Allen on the radio in Qatar makes me confident that MM won't be approached. Sherwood worked with Les Ferdinand and other QPR back room members at Spurs and it would be the least disruptive choice IMO. At this point that would make sense for the club, especially with a couple of key games coming up very soon.

Redknapp, or should that be Ratknapp? Like any rat they always jump ship at the first sign of trouble. He's gutless.

I have always had a soft spot for dear old Harry Redknob, I think he is you typical cockney cheeky chapp. Wheeler dealer type of bloke.
I wish him well and hope that he stays out of management from now on as age is against him.

Robson was still managing Newcastle United into his 70s. Redknapp still has some years left in the job, he's not incapable,
but it's all about the desire to continue. Lose that, and you may as well quit.

Sort of half agree with Barmy on this, but also agree with Hallam..... He is difficult to dislike, (his son Jamie is the most annoying tw*t on TV) but I do think he has jumped ship as the seas got rough. Did he hear a rumour that he was getting sacked or something?

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes says he has got his "dream manager" to replace Harry Redknapp, who resigned last week.
Not sure why the name is being held back....
Will it be Tim Sherwood?
