Clearly is still struggling with that knee injury. One wonders if he will actually ever get back to pre injury form now. Rest him for a few games and play Sears up front with Murphy.

Dont want anyone to be injured but what a relief this could be for all concerned.

I certainly wish injury on no one. I also do not wish total "pissed offness" on anyone. Didn't want to start a new thread, but I've just accidentally pressed "update" on my Sky Sports App on my phone......, and it's all changed, and it's absolute fking Shyte. So , Didsy, if you are not playing and on the bench and playing on the phone...... Don't update stuff accidentally. AAARGH!

And yes, what a massive relief it was tonight that Didsy didnt play.

Yes quite apparent that Sears:Murphy combo is thecway forward. It has the lot
1. Pace
2. Work rate
3. Understanding
4. Flare
5. GOALS


McG would be best suited playing just behind these two. He could be devestating in this slightly withdrawn role.

Picking up the pieces from shots saved by the keeper or blocks from defenders.
Sears offers a new a different way of attack he just needs more games with Murphy to click together.

McGoldrick is probably our most technically gifted player. However is total lack of pace is actually quite frightening now, and is definitely much worse post injury IMO. This leaves Murphy almost as a loan striker when being partnered by McG.

Having Sears alongside Murphy is an absolute blast of fresh air. I just hope to God MM can see this and utilise it.

Absolutely spot on Hallam.

I never thought his pace was much of an issue, he somehow always managed to find space behind defenders even when he was at walking through custard speed. Hard to say what really caused his drop in form but it's about time that someone else got a chance ahead of him.

Really is a funny old game. In the last transfer window folk were applauding ME for turning down Leicester's offer of a lot of money, believing his departure would be fatal to our promotion chances. Not so now!

Tbh I think he doesnt want to be here anymore and has had his head turned by the Leicester bid. That wsd probably his onky chance of PL footie. I think his knee injury had had a lasting effect on him. He simply hasn't been the same player. How long do you give a player?

Agreed.

However, I feel Mick still see's him as a key member of the team and would not be at all surprised that he comes straight back in the side when fit again.

Agree that the potential Leicester move must have been unsettling at the time, but really don't believe it's made him resentful to the point of being disinterested etc. It's all part and parcel of a professional player's life; they get over things and move on. Also, don't believe that MM would tolerate anything less than full commitment from every player who pulls on the shirt, and would act firmly if he felt an individual was sulking or affecting the team's performances.

No doubt, however, that getting back to full fitness and effectiveness on the pitch is having an impact. However, if he continues to train hard and works on reigaining that sharpness that made him so effective for us in the past, then we will surely reap the benefits. He's too good a player to consign to the recycle bin. One's enough!

If he was good enough for Leicester to bid 8mill then he will be a useful asset for us in the PL next year

Maybe after a Summer break and full pre-season he might have got over his injury too.

I think we should be patient. He is a talented footballer, of that there is no doubt. Can't see MM dropping Sears at Fulham though.

It wouldn't surprise me. If he does drop Sears then it does make you wonder what some players have to do to get in the starting line up. The same thing happened to Parr.

I think you're right Hallam. That Leicester bid was the worst thing that could have happened. I've seen him two or three times at the players entrance and he comes across as a bit if a prima donna. To be fair though, he's not the only one.
