Leicester's Anthony Knokaert Linked

Post by herforder » Mon Feb 23, 2015 3:20 pm

TWTD reporting MM's alleged interest in bringing AK in on loan from Leicester. Slightly surprised, if true, that Leicester would be happy to let him go; or that with the likes of Cameron Stewart and the new Irish lad available for wing duty, we would be in for him. That said, whenever I've seen him play he looked to be skilful, pacey and inventive, so would not say no if there was any realistic chance.

Thoughts from the Nowegian Jury?! :D

I've seen him play loads of times and whilst he's no Premiership player he'd be a great addition to our side and give us pace and width, but probably so would Cameron Stewart if we played him.

I'm not sure how match fit he is or how much game time he's played recently but he'd certainly be a decent signing, far more so than the last few names we've been linked with recently..

Moderately excited.

I think he is a fair bit up from what Cameron Stewart could bring to the table and I am surprised he would even be available, for that reason I doubt anything will come of this one.

To be honest Bluemike Leicester aren't even using him on the subs bench these days. The last time he made it on the bench was v Spurs in the FA Cup and even then he was unused. I suspect Leicester would rather recoup some of his wages and get him some competitive game time in preparation for their return to the Championship.

It also can't be much fun for a 23yr old living in a foreign country not playing any football. I think he'd welcome a loan opportunity too especially to a club where he would expect to be a regular starter.

That being the case it would be a good signing but I just dont get the point of Stewart, Henshall(who yes is injured), and the new lad Connolly who was supposed to be first team material ??

As an attacking midfield player he's just the type we need at the moment and could well be our missing link. I'd really like to see this one happen especially whilst we're still in touch with the leading pack.

So, our plan is to put a MF on the pitch who may be able to score a goal during a match? Preposterous!

Sorry, a little jaded these past few matches as it seems only one person can score for us all a sudden. Reminds me when PJ and RK were here, having nightmares.

Have to say I am feeling a bit the same way at the moment OTB.. It appears to be that way and even more
concerning it appears to me (only an opinion folks) that we have woken up in the last month and realised
what we should have perhaps done.. Now it appears we are working on desperate measures to make it
look like we are trying to do some business we should have done earlier..

I am a little downbeat at the moment as I am sure many are, I will probably be more upbeat if we
get the points tomorrow, but it will nto change my thoughts as to how we should have
approached things since the turn of the year..

Onwards and upwards

Get your bloody chin up of the floor Earl or you will be banned for a week or Two !!! On a serious note I actually think it was the intention all along to go down the loan route at this time of the season, firstly we keep any6 loanees for the possibility of Play offs and secondly we dont have to keep them on the books should we not go up and in doing so avoid inflated wage bills.

lol Bluemike, .. Promise...

I would seriously hope we would have had that intention, I just think we have left it a tad late.
The Likes of Bent and Ince sporing to mind as being the eearlier ones up for
grabs as oppose to the latter ones being banded about which do not have the same appeal.

I think Bent would have been back here like a shot if Mick gave him the nod, also as I said earlier, Wood from Leicester and Murray from Palace would be good loans in, but saying all this I bet Varney & Chaplow prove me wrong, yes please make me eat my words, I have learnt one thing with Mick expect the unexpected to happen, when I play golf with Mick in March I'm going to ask if he asked about Wood & Murray, probably say in his broad Barnsley accent' Iye I thought abarrt tit Mike lad, bt it weret too tempting to goo for Varnee und chappers, then say now stop asken stupid questions and get a round in, laughing his head off. got to love the bloke cracks me up with his dry humour, but I do like to bate him up.

Not now coming - decided to remain with a Pl club, albeit as a bench-warmer, to improve his prospects at end of contract!

Fine by us. Moving on......hopefully to someone who would jump at the chance of joining us. Attitude and desire remain key qualities in any individual joining our squad, whatever their technical abilities.

That's a real shame. I've played golf today with quite a few LCFC fans who to a man agreed he'd be a great signing for us and couldn't understand why he wasn't getting more game time at Leicester, and assumed he'd had a fall out with Pearson at some time.

Similar situation to Paul Taylor - except of course we can't get shot of him at any price!
