McGoldrick included in Ireland Squad.

Post by hallamblue » Thu Mar 12, 2015 1:54 pm

So, having been unfit injured and unable to play for Town for weeks , he's now suddenly fit to play International football?!

Makes me feel even more convinced that this player is not interested in playing for Town....wouldnt be surprised to see him leave in the summer. With young Sears partnering Murph so well, McG is down the pecking order for out and out striker. If McG was to stay Id be putting him in midfield as our creative spark , end of !

He's in the squad, we will see if he is ready to play. I suspect Martin O'Neill doesn't know for sure that he will be fit. MM himself said that he thinks Saturday might be a little too soon for him. If he's fit and he gets some time on the pitch against Poland then it just helps him get fitter and ready to play for us more quickly.

Don't see any downsides here Hallam

Definitely a strange one. Must be out of favour with TC & Choo Choo.

Agree. His fitness is just coincidental.

I still find it odd that he's even being "considered " for the "provisional " squad when he hasnt kicked a ball in a competitive game for nearly SIX weeks. Hes not fit enough for inclusion in Town squad sat. Enough said!

I'm sure this has happened before with other people. It's unexoected certainly buf not unusual.

What will more than likely happen is he'll be cut when the squad gets chosen as he's still unfit or he'll pass their tests, play and get injured.

Wouldn't be no great loss if he were to leave during the close season. Yes admittedy he's been missed more since being out because we have depended mainly on Murphy to get the goals but with the recent additions coming in they could eventually prove more effective. Guessing what he does for the Republic of Ireland will be of little benefit for Ipswich so if their manager wants to include him that's his business. It will be interesting to see what occurs when he does finally get back to domestics and where he will fit in with McCarthy's plans however.

I think he'd make a very good creative Midfielder tbh with the workaholic MF's either side or just behind him. He could cause a lot of damage from that position. But Murhy's strike partner (for me ) is Sears.
