I have my doubts he will ever wear a Town shirt again.

Certainly seems there could be more to it.

Would love to know why people think that there is anything more to it than we are told. Did I miss something?

I don't believe there's anything sinister about McGoldrick's absence other than a nasty injury, but I do believe his return, or not, will make the difference between playoffs and no playoffs. Let's hope he's back for the last few games.

The McGoldrick pre injury last season, yes Id agree with you. But this season he's been a pale shadow of the player he should be. Most players recover from crucuate injuries within 9 months. How long has he been out now?

nothing will convince me that he wants anything other than to get away from the Club and I really wouldnt be surprised to see him go in the summer.

Hallam, what makes you think that? I know there is speculation about his head being turned and the usual vague guff along those lines but was there something specific? Something said?

Ive just noticed a total difference in his whole demenour and body language since returning to the side and especially since the Leicester bid was turned down. I also spoke to a work colleague who also works at the Club and he told me that McG was absolutely furious that we declined that offer. He will never get another chance to play PL IMO. I can sympathise with him but we still pay his wages and he can barely be arsed to run for the ball now as far as I can see. He knows he's down the pecking order and I actually dont think he likes not being top dog at the Club , thats Murphys rightful place this season.

Even if he was fit I wouldnt drop Sears up front for McG , because he cant run! If he has avfuture at Town , its as a creative midfielder or sitting just behind Murphy:Sears. But naturally this is all just my opinion, but i do know McG is not happy at the Clubs decision regarding the transfer

Agree with that entirely, I have not been impressesd with him at all this season, when he has played he has moped around like a spoilt brat with the body language of someone who was just going through the motions.

It is quite understandable if he was furious that the Leicester bid was dismissed. It must have been very flattering for him, but he now needs to stop sulking and put himself back in the shop window by playing at the top of his game. Otherwise it will only go one way and it won't be up.

It will be interesting to see what happens if and when he is fit to play.
MM has been quoted more than once as saying that to get into the team a player has to impress him in training.
So if Didz does feature again, it can only be because he will have impressed MM in training - I would not expect somebody who is totally pi$$ed off with the club to be able to do that.
Unless, of course, MM has one rule for Didz, and another rule for everybody else

I guess he was more pissed off than normal as I believe he commutes to Ipswich from Nottingham. It was a real opportunity for him cos in reality he's not worth anywhere near the money Leicester were rumoured to be offering and a similar offer will most likely never happen again in his career.

If McCarthy can make him fall in love with ITFC again he truly will be a Magician.

Hmmm interesting replies, thanks Hallam.

MM has been bigging him up recently so either we are all wrong or he wants to stroke McG's ego.

If he really can't be arsed though I really don't see MM picking him. I know some here believe that MM has his favourites (Scuse, Tabb, Smith) but nobody could accuse any of them of lack of application and effort, which seems to be a basic requirement for selection in an MM team.

We could be doing with him on the field right now. Ok he's had his problems but we're a little short in attack sometimes and Murphy often appears as the one recognized striker. Guess I don't have enough faith in Sears yet and the same goes for Varney but when McGoldrick does return, and I do believe it will be sometime before end of season, I'm not expecting great things as he's lost a lot of ability it would be fair to say and hasn't been as effective as before, but would provide an extra option in attack. This second half is going to be pivotal.

Your last line may be closer to the truth than we think rossi. Good to see you back posting btw. Hope life is settling for you a bit now but never easy eh!
