A little while ago it was "rumoured" that after 3 games if we were still in the play off hunt Evans would sanction 2 players being loaned from Wigan.
Well here we are 3 games later, and we're still in with a fighting chance.
So will we see these players come in, and if so will they be here for the play-offs if we qualifyfor them?

Well we've just shipped out Cameron Stewart to Barnsley of all places. So the signs could be good.
I half wonder if we my try to get Knockert (spl) Leicester winger again. Wood bring hete might mean he's got more info about MM ways and ITFC as a Club.fingers crossed

Kind of depends where the rumor originated from. And what Wigan players were we thinking of ?

When we get Mcgoldrick back for the Bournemouth match, it will be like having a new signing.!!

The players are James Mcclean and Martyn Waghorn that were linked from Wigan. And theres a few sites linking them, but non are saying its a done deal.

James McClean would be a worthwhile addition but not Waghorn, another bloody striker !!!
And no way will McGoldrick be back for Bournemouth, or any game I should think.

Mike i'm starting to think the same about McGoldrick.
I don't think he'll be here next season, because his head has(possibly)been turned by that Leicester bid.
I do think it might be better to hear from people who have "contacts" at the club regarding him, to get possibly a clear picture of whats going on.
someone like Dave(LnP) might have a clearer picture.(can you hear us Dave

Well with 7 games left (maybe plus up to 3 more) I don't think it is strikers that we need. I personally think a lot depends on the fitness of Hyam & Hunt (S). Skuse is only one booking away from a 2 match suspension and ideally if he earns that we would wish to have Hyam back from injury to cover. The rest of the squad are safe from suspension since the 10 card limit only runs up to the second Sunday in April (3 more games). In fact if Skuse makes it through the Bournemouth game without a booking then I would personally be tempted to rest him against Huddersfield and Blackpool just to make sure that we have him for Cardiff, Wolves, Forest & Blackburn to follow.
If Hyam and Hunt don't look like coming back soon and Bishop looks like he will need to sit out some of the games then it might be tempting to bring in a midfielder. Then again look how well Varney and Chaplow have been doing in MF.
Not easy in my view and perhaps I'm just verging on the side of 'no need'.

Waghorn actually scored yesterday for Wigan which makes things slightly more interesting and have heard of the other (MacLean) but don't know enough to really make a comment. Some have alluded to that we don't need another center forward but why not. We seem to rely too much on Murphy to get the goals and while Sears and Varney's time may come, McGoldrick may not even return this season and if we're going to challenge for promotion then adding a name or two in the attacking department won't do any harm.

Window closes Thursday 26th March, so if anything is going to happen , it needs to happen fast. I cant see any business being done personally but I have been wrong before.(it was a Tuesday about 1976 if I remember rightly!!)

We don't need anyone.

Ipswich Town did explore a potential loophole that would have allowed them to get Jonny Williams back on loan before tonight’s deadline but did not receive approval from the Football League.
The talented Crystal Palace midfielder – who proved a popular figure at Portman Road during an initial loan spell at the back end of the 2013/14 campaign – returned for another temporary switch last September, only to see the move prematurely cut short by injury following a crude challenge by Watford’s Joel Ekstrand.
Football League rules state that a player cannot join the same club on an ‘emergency’ loan twice in the same season, but Town asked whether the initial loan deal – which was cut short at 41 days – could simply be resumed, Williams having recently returned to full training following several injury set-backs.
“We had an initial discussion with the Football League to see if there was the possibility of getting him back for the balance of the 93-day loan that he didn’t initially complete,” confirmed Town managing director Ian Milne.
“The Football League haven’t approved that, but even if they had that’s not to say it would have happened – Mick would have had to decide whether he was fit enough and whether he wanted to do it. As a club we did ask the question though.”
This paper understands that Blues owner Marcus Evans – who has already funded mid-season deals for Freddie Sears, Noel Hunt, Chris Wood, Luke Varney and Richard Chaplow – wanted to ensure that the team was still in the thick of the Championship promotion mix come the end of March before he gambled on bankrolling further new recruits.
Back-to-back wins against Bolton and Watford have ensured that is the case, Town moving back into the play-off places with seven games to go, and pacy Arsenal teenage striker Chuba Akpom is one player that has been under consideration.
However, the impressive form of Varney, returning match sharpness of Wood and a rapidly clearing injury list means the Blues boss has decided against adding to a tight-knit squad whose success has been heavily built on togetherness and spirit.
“Mick and his staff are always looking at all opportunities, but nothing is live at the moment,” confirmed Milne.
Thank god for that, this obsession with Williams does my head in, unfortunately the second of his stints here didnt really work and it has seen the emergence of Bru & Bishop which I for one would rather have than a sicknote Williams back here.

I think we need another Williams type of player. Bishop is finding it physically challanging now in his first full season and i doubt he will feature in many remaining games. That leaves just Bru and he is not quite in the same mould of Williams.

I'll say it for you, Marko: Mick the f*ck out!
I do appreciate your concerns, Bluemike: this signing really could go either way...but personally I think it's worth the gamble. Jonny Williams possesses the kind of magic which could just be decisive in such a tight promotion race.

Assuming he is on the pitch for any period of time then yes I agree and I can see the sense in the move with Bishop probably not appearing much more but the fact remains Williams is the new Darren Anderton at times and as such could and I only say Could, become a liability.

Eh? Me? No, not at all, Jamma. I've kept quiet on the "Williams" speculation,......, for me, he's a very good football player, arguably better than anyone at ITFC, so it's all good as far as I'm concerned....... He slotted in nicely before , pretty sure a three quarter fit Williams will slot in again. Good move by Mick IMO.

Sorry Marko - I wasn't referring to any specific view of yours on Williams. For some reason, that expression - in your Scottish accent - just came into my head as I was reading Bluemike's cynicism!

Yes , the brains default is definitely, "everyone the fk out, and fk off" ..... But not with Williams.

Both new/old loan signings can be nothing but POSITIVE additions to the squad for the run in. No brainer, in'it?!

Williams is a quality player. Even firing on only 2 or 3 cylinders he is better than what we have got. Good move I say.

For once I got a question right having opted for option 3.
