A nice way for Christophe Berra to celebrate his 29th cap after coming on as a second half substitute to score the only goal in Scotland's 1-0 win over Northern Ireland. His last international goal came in February 2012 and tonight's takes his tally to three.

I heard someone say that Scottish football has improved recently. Has it? I don't mean to sound like an arsehole, but I really wouldn't know.

I could write a novel on this, Don. But extremely briefly.... When the majority of English people think of Scottish football, they visualise a dull and waterlogged Firhill, on a December night, with two teams slugging footballs end to end, whilst covered in mud. It's absolutely true.

We are definitely on a par with the English championship. When I say "we", I mean the so called decent sides like Hibs, Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, maybe Rangers. I've watched a helluva lot of championship football this season and Derby County aside, it's not been much different. I say Derby because, even though they were defeated a couple of times, they played some lovely stuff.

I watched the JP trophy final....., Bristol City V Walsall. It was absolute fking Shyte...... And I'd put money on Hibs beating both of those teams.

But as said, this preconceived idea of dull weather, muddy football is in many peoples heads.

Because of Bluemike, I go on about Forfar a lot......, but that Angus derby last week at Glebe Park, finishing 3-2 to Forfar, was probably one of the best games of the day up and down the UK, if the reports are to be believed. Was a highly entertaining game.

Thanks for asking, Don. Definitely improved and improving. Whether or not we return to being a nation who used to consistently qualify for World Cups remains to be seen. I have my doubts.

Denmark beat the United States last week so their respective league can't be that bad. (Even though they required two strikes in the last ten minutes to achieve the victory)

Someone asked if the level of Scots soccer has improved and to an extent Yes it has. I put this down to the omission of Rangers from the SPL which has enabled other teams to come to the fore and provide a challenge to the league championship. Guess they'll be back in a year or two and normal service will have resumed but while they've been away, other teams have had their opportunity.

Sorry, buddy. With all due respect, the above is utter wind and pish. Celtic have dominated and no one has come to the fore.

I was trying to put across that there's been more competition this season and other teams have had their opportunity. Yes the SPL is invariably boring, I was an advocate that both Glasgow clubs sides should join the English Premier League, but let's face it, it was never going to see the light of day. Even if it had been for a trial period or only for one season, it would have been interesting to see.

Aberdeen have come close to a championship this season and it's been closer than many would realize but the often unmovable object that is Celtic Football Club retains power over all other challengers. As with the above point, (and a follower of the latter) take this opportunity once more to believe it would have been beneficial for the SPL, had both Old Firm clubs moved into the English league. Maybe it's not an idea for everyone's tastes, but it's been so stale there for as long as anyone can remember. Some would argue the prospect of Celtic vs Tottenham, Rangers vs Manchester United etc has a stronger attraction to it than simply the reoccuring banality of facing off with Falkirk or Kilmarnock four or five times a season - especially when there's only going to be one eventual winner.

As before, it was really an idea that was dead in the water from stage one but no harm in giving a thought to what some would argue was a viable alternative.

Someone has to finish 2nd. Derek McInnes is doing a decent job at Aberdeen, BUT Celtic haven't really moved into top gear all season. If they really really wanted, they could've pi$$ed the league by Feb. That really is the truth.

And, realistically, only Celtic (MAYBE) could survive the EPL......., and they'd be a Stoke City type club at best. No way would they compete for Top 4,...., even top 6 would be a huge ask.

Jambofuckers, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, would probably be consistent Championship clubs. At the moment, Hibernian and Rangers would be championship/league One yoyo clubs. Rangers may have defeated Hibs couple of weeks ago, but my God, they were sh*t. Typical Hibs....., bottled it at home to the Glasgow fuckers.
