Interesting extract from Marcus Evans' piece in Saturday's programme, saying how he will continue to back Mick McCarthy financially given his impressive record to date:

It's noticeable how he specifies that we will be competitive in offering wages to both current and future players, while emphasising the importance of continuing to be prudent with outgoing transfer fees. This would, of course, depend on which division we find ourselves in next season but it looks like he's keen to stick to the approach which has seen progress over the last couple of years...

Good to read that the Chairman thinks TC & Choo Choo are doing a "miraculous" job. Although I see a comedy sketch with maybe Ricky Gervais as Mevans:

"Yeah, he's working miracles. I mean I give him fk all cash to spend, and yet the club could be in the play offs! It's great. Miraculous!"

While McCarthy has done well I wouldn't go as far as to describe it miraculous. The proper time to evaluate is in a few weeks when the season is done and like it or not a percentage still exists where they remain unconvinced about McCarthy's abilities. There's nothing wrong with being skeptical but as always that number will invariably be bashed by those with an opposite viewpoint.

Bottom line, McCarthy has been a big improvement on recent seasons but prepared to wait that little longer to get a better understanding of who deserves what.
