Records are there to be broken. Blackburn have quite a few defenders out injured which is good news and we are more than capable of causing them problems at the back, clearly Gestede & Rhodes are a potent attacking force and if we can marshall them and keep them quiet I believe we can get the point at least, Gestede is on fire while we all know Rhodes has no game other than a goal poacher, I am sure Berra will be on top of his game to handle him, thankfully Smith has improved over the last 3-4 games, in fact I though we was very good against Forest so we can do this.
Anyway our current form looks pretty good P8 W5 D2 L1 And in that 8 game run we have faced Watford, bournemouth, Wolves and Forest so hardly had it easy, Blackburn on the other hand have faced Huddersfield, Millwall, Forest, Birmingham, Reading & Leeds so hardly earth shattering form.

Genuine question here, (been too busy to read past couple reports) ....., how has Tommy been past few games? I don't want to single him out or indeed jump on his case.
But......, for such a big, big game, with so much at stake, I sort of feel a bit sick at the thought of Tommy potentially having to deal with Gestede or Rhodes, or both.
But if he's playing with confidence, then all good.

Imo I think he has improved recently.
Thought he had a very good game on Saturday. There is no way I can see Mick changing things now even if he had still been playing poorly.
There is no doubt we will need to be solid at the back on Saturday and tbh Gestede worries me more than Rhodes. Now you watch that comment come back and bite me in the ar**.

Have to admit, (and apologies for this) I follow Jordan Rhodes' career. Usually like to see the goals he scores etc......, (more a Scotland thing)....., and he's very much like Ally McCoist in the sense that, as a spectator, you think, "Na, he's fkd that up," then BOOM, it's in the back of the net. Can't comment on Gestede at all really...... But I'm really hoping the past doesn't kick ITFC's arse on Saturday.

JR from a very young age has always shown he has the ability to anticipate what is going to happen when the ball comes into the box.
I guess some people would call it a strikers instinct but some players seem to just have the gift for this. For me the key is to stop the supply line and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.
I really can't see us keeping a clean sheet, think their last two results have been 3-3 and 2-2 but feel both Murphy and Sears can cause them problems if they get the service.
Just hope we don't go there inviting pressure onto us by looking for the draw.

As Shed rightly says, Tommy Smith has improved in recent games and was very good Saturday, I also agree that Gestede is the one to watch, hius all round game is far superior to that of Rhodes who scores goals yes but for 89mins can be anonymous, it all depends on if we can snuff out that chance that will invariably fall his way in the other minute !!!

Yer , I'm fearful tbh...but not cos they are better at their place than we are , but more for our almost habitual ability to "gift" opponents a goal when there is often no pressure from them on us. I'lll put money on it we do the same again sat and shoot ourselves in the foot.

I hope not Liz cos I thought we had better GD than we have so we probably need at least a draw to make the play offs.
I think a 1-0 defeat at Blackburn and a 2-0 win for Brentford at home to Wigan with Derby getting at least a draw at home to Reading then we would get squeezed out, so it tremendously tight and most definitely squeaky bum time.
Come on Town, as hallam says we need a repeat of the performance at Watford to end the season on a high.

I think we're much better at grinding out results this season compared to last. We need to do to them what Chelsea did to Arsenal yesterday and close up shop to stop them playing.
I'm sure our players will be up for it and Blackburn will have nothing to play for with their 9th place guaranteed. We just have to hope and pray that our friend Jordon Rhodes hasn't managed to get them fired up cos I'm sure he'd still like to do us some damage.

First bold part;
You reckon Mick sees "John Terry" when he is watching Tommy Smith?!
Second bold part;
I agree with that totally. That's an added threat to the talent he already has.
