WHO'S GOING & STAYING FROM THE CURRENT SQUAD

 Gives us something to talk about now that we know where we will be next season, right lets start the ball hoofing  I mean rolling, I think there will be quite a lot of players moving on, or put it another way, should be moved on, like the Hunt Bros, Tabb, and Mings cash in on him, Smith, both have been a somewhat liability, I think if Mick keeps all the current squad we wont do as well as this year, I would like to see him bring in some younger more hungry type players, plus introduce some of the ones he signed this season, that rarely my the bench, raid the teams that got promoted, as they will have a few surplus to requirements, I feel it again will be bloody hard next season, Bristol City, MK Dons & Preston will be hard to beat, and its usually the teams that come up from Div 1 that do the best, plus we will face QPR, Burnley, And I think Hull will come down, with money to spend from the parachute payments, so if ME does not allow Mick to buy some real quality players, not ageing journey men loans, I think we will be Fooked, and have just a so so season, I hope we can play similar to Bournemouth, Watford, and Brentford, a breath of fresh air with all out attacking football, I do have to admit that Micks style of hoof ball gets very boring, bypassing the midfield, God its so awful to watch.

Now Players to keep if possible, Murphy, Sears,Varney,Scuse, Bru, Bishop, Berra, Chambers, Anderson, Parr, McGoldrick, plus both keepers,

But I have a feeling we will be raided and lose a few of these players, Murphy must be worth 20 million for 27 goals, Mings 8 million Bishop 8 million, McGoldrick 5 million, Sears 3 million, Smith 1 million, Tabb 50p

yea, we can't stand pat on the squad. We have a solid core group of players to build on, but have to get production out of the midfield one way or the other. I don't think Mings will stay, and if we can get a chunk of change for him to use for next year, sounds good to me.

You are absolutely right, now is the time for ME to open up so we can sign quality youth players. I honestly think he was snake bit by RK and has not loosened the purse strings since then. I think he trusts Mick enough now to do so.

I don't expect a huge change in personnel or investment. I think a few players will move on, but the core of the team will remain. I doubt Murphy or Sears will be going anywhere. Bishop and Mings could well be on their way, and we should snap at the transfer fees that have been mentioned for both. I think McGoldrick's valuation will have dropped significantly due to injuries and lack of goals. He may end up staying. I am very curious to see how/if our midfield is transformed because IMHO that needs the most work. I don't expect any huge changes in defense...although it is time for Hewitt to move up or move on. Investment wise I expect ME to stick to his business plan of FFP adherence and a competitive wage structure, so don't expect any big money signings.

It's all speculation of course; I'd could be wrong about everything. It is fact however, that the lantern of progress is now shining a little bit brighter for ITFC.

Don't think we will be paying out much in transfer fees but will be using most of our budget on wages.

Hoping we can keep hold of Bish, as for Mings if he does go cannot see us getting anywhere near the figures being mentioned for him earlier this season. We can bang on as much as we like about Evans opening his cheque book but under the current situation regarding FFP this is not going to happen and even if the regulations are changed then having had his fingers burnt in the past I think he will be very careful in the future.

If we really do want more money spent on the squad we also need to get more people down to PR during the regular season to increase the income into the club. Obviously not everybody can afford a season ticket or even go on a regular basis due to other factors but if it is possible for them to attend then by doing so it will help.

Ashford?!   £20M for Murphy? Are you being serious? Yes, top scorer and all that......., he's not worth £20Mill though. Man City might pay that for him though, for Carling & FA Cup games.

And ASHFORD......., you've written off Swindon Town too? I'm putting a tenner on them now.

Had to laugh at that as well.

20 million for a 32 year old, bloody hell as well as Murph has done this season if we got offered that for him I would drive him to his new club myself!

I agree with Smith being worth a tube of strawberry millions. Snap hands off at that.

Smith won't be going anywhere mate. He's one of MM's favs! And he's worth more than strawberries just for scoring against the scum. Admittedly I'd rather see Smith on the bench, but I don't want him gone.

Tabby has been brilliant for us this season. A point recognised by the Club, as he's had an extension to his contract offered today. Good on him I say!

Ando's been offered a year but likely to move on.
Tabb offered a year.
Mcgoldrick is in the balance.

Actually, I think TS is a far better defender than many on here give him credit for, and he's not bad up front either. But he's a left sided player, and needs to be played there. I thought that on Saturday after Berra's incredibly stupid sending-off (and I'll say no more about that), the defence looked far more solid with TS left CB and Chambo right CB. If we hadn't been down to 10 men then I think there's no way Naarwich would have scored.

Rossi your dead right with smudger being a good defender, but as you say just not on the right side, but on the left side, I think if Mick keeps him on the right side then he will be a liability, just get Parr over at right back and move Chambers to right side centre back, it beggars belief why Mick keeps him there, even a blind man can see I aint working as it should, round pegs round holes, I sometimes wonder what keeps Micks ears apart with some of his decisions, he certainly is not a manager for stylish on the ground footie like Sir Bobby and Joe Royale instigated, and like Bournemouth and Brentford and even Boro played, if we had the right blend of players and played like those two teams, with quick wingers down the flanks, we would have been in the auto promotion, I can see why Mick has a bad record in the playoffs with hoof ball, its so boring and predictable to play against.

agreed, and the thing is that we may well have the players to accommodate a far more stylish game. Put Parr at RB, Chambo right CB, either TS or Berra left CB (my choice would be TS), play Didz just behind the front 2, and play Stewart and the new Irish winger (forgot his name) out wide, and we would definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

For some reason he hasnt kicked on here, but the away game at Derby, he and Mings had that left hand side of the park sown up.
