McCarthy on his way ?

I am not one to take too much notice of rumours and gossip, god knows we get enough of them around these parts but I did hear something today which while laughing it off at the time and calling the bringer of the news every name under the Sun it did have me slightly concerned, more so as to who was telling me than the story itself, if it is to be proved correct there will be headlines this time next week that our great leader MM is in the running to be the next West Ham manager, I don't know if anyone else has heard such rumours but by all accounts they are slowly starting to surface.

I hope to god it is nothing more than rumours but for me it holds far greater threat than the Fulham link ever did.

I don't think West Ham's owner's would be interested in MM, to be honest. I think the club wants to go forward by playing more attractive football with an international flare. Sam and MM are too much a like, I think. I hope so anyway! It probably would be prudent for ME and the board members to at least identify replacements candidates (privately).

Certainly would be a strange move by the Hammers. I reckon that could receive a mixed reaction from fans.

This rumor, or whatever it is, most likely holds no water but I wouldn't be surprised to see McCarthy depart in the summer and move up a league (or anywhere else) and give it another go. Said before if we didn't get a promotion this year (which we haven't) he will most likely weigh up his options and consider management elsewhere. There's a vacancy at Watford by all accounts so all things are possible. Don't delude yourselves by thinking that there is no chance McCarthy will leave this club for another - it's something that's very much a flesh and blood reality.

Do I think he will leave this summer - No

Is it possible and be proved incorrect - Absolutely

Cant see it myself Mike. Mick loves the freedom and relative Space and room he and TC gets to run Things their way. With Micks Millwall concections also i doubt there is much credance in any of thee rumours. I love the rumour mill in the close season but this is a bridge a bit too far imho.

What, because McCarthy has Millwall connections he won't be a candidate for a position at Upton Park ? Billy Bonds was a legend of the latter and became their manager so that said anything is possible. That caused more of a sensation than McCarthy could ever manage if it were to occur.

Say again I don't expect McCarthy to be leaving for West Ham this summer or anywhere else, but if it were to happen it wouldn't be too great a surprise.

 I think you'll find the spammers aspirations for a replacement manager, are set a tad higher than bringing in Mick to replace Sam, Its rumoured they might even try to tempt Jurgen Klopp or Bilac

Certainly Slaven Bilic is the strong favourite but bizarrely our Mick isn't even quoted which seems rather strange given some of the other names quoted. See the complete list below:

Given the bookies are rarely too far off the pace I guess this should be good news for our supporters.

Milne has categorically stated that Mick will NOT be leaving Town , and to ignore the Fulham ( and other) rumours to this effect.

Thats good enough for me . MM is not one for Jumping ship. FACT!

 I Think a nice little Each Way bet would be Sean Dyche at 14/1, and another might be Di Matteo at 22/1, but Bilic does look stoned on for the job.

What a surprise... Slaven Bilic has been appointed the new manager of West Ham. As suggested in my earlier post, the bookies are rarely off the pace. I guess that's why they rarely lose money!

Hadn't (even) realized Allerdyce had resigned until some days after he had departed. Bilic is no surprise, was an ex-player that did well and became something of a fan favorite over time but don't know if this will be any improvement on what has already come before. West Ham are more of a cup team than a league one so expect they may go on a little run here and there but as for a European place by end of season, the only way they will qualify for that is by means of winning a cup, not by league position.
