We can't really brag, only being in 19th. But I find it really hard to believe that Wigan has the best matchday experience...

Probably because the away fans outnumbered the home fans.
Wigan only won 3 drawn 8 lost 12 as an away fan to see your team get a point or better is a good feeling.

If that theory were true BB surely Blackpool would be up there too and not the only club below Wigan.

I'd really like to know what the measurement criteria was, could it be convenience to get to or miles travelled was one of the measures as we all know Blackpool, Norwich & Ipswich would all score badly on ease of getting to.

I won't get this time back, but the people who voted, have they even been to the stadia they are criticizing.

Don't like to award them any recognition, but a trip to Carrow Road for instance is a good day out i.e. there's little scope for crowd trouble with opposition fans or (most) away supporters can visit safe in the knowledge they're most likely going to have a safe experience with little in the way of poor behavior from the home team support.

Add to that a number of easily accessible drinking establishments in the vicinity that cater for away fans and with a celebrity chef for an owner, you're guessing the food on offer for hospitality events at least should be a cut above most other rivals. Even the lesser fare is a lot better and reasonably priced than what some other clubs put forward. Even Norwich as a city is a fine trip for the away fan with the cathedral and other historic places of interest.

One hassle with the journey is it can often be awkward finding somewhere to park on matchdays and the trip into and out of the city is sometimes problematic due to traffic. That said the rail station (as with Portman Road) is a short distance from the stadia and readily accessible should fans want to arrive by train and avoid any road issues.

Don't know why Wigan Athletic would rank #1, guess the area has some kind of celebrated delicacy at a discount price or something.

Not wishing to be too harsh on the place but Wigan itself is a sh*t hole and certainly not attractive. The people I've met there have been very nice and they do have a decent stadium.

But, in terms of the town/city, Norwich is in a different league to Wigan and you could happily make a weekend trip out it and furthermore the atmosphere in the ground is far better at Norwich than Wigan.

I'm confused by this table and most certainly wouldn't be guided by it. But then what do ITV know about football, you only have to compare their efforts to televise the game compared with Sky TV or even the BBC to know it's not very much.

Rubbish report in my opinion, but at least it's a good topic for debate on a footie forum.

All of these useless polls etc are a total waste of time, whatever people may think of Norwich/Ipswich these Two away days will be light years ahead of a lot of the crap on that list.

That area of Lancashire / North West is well renowned for it's pasties and similar delicasies.

But food alone doesn't make for a top ranking venue. Maybe Wigan have other award winning features such as fan safety, steward hospitality, ease of parking, seating views, matchday cost etc. Guess owner Whelan cared with a passion so would spare no expense in giving supporters the best of everything.

Can only assume that it's essentially a rugby crowd at Wigan so the "safety issue" does not exist. After a heavy defeat, it's hugs and high fives all round.
