Yes I agree. Several teams have shown class. Sometimes their passing looks better than the men!

It's not for me, if the girls played the guys it would be what ? 12 - 0 15 - 0 so i don't see how they are better than the guys in any shape or form, but hey good luck to them, I hope they win it.

Tried to quote the above but the site didn't want to know, - tried to say :

Don't think there's ever been such a thing as an intergender match, particularly at professional level, but say if it were to occur right now, to suggest a score of that nature seems a little far-fetched. The English mens squad are average at best and invariably get to play a lot of sub-standard opposition and obscure European nations so would like to think the women could do well and keep a respectable score.

As for the competition itself, we know it's in Canada this year but don't know who the favorites are, who is left partcipating etc but guessing it means as much to them as their male counterparts in the more recognized World Cup tourney.

Not far fetched at all, the physical side from set pieces etc would be embarrassing.

I've rather enjoyed the games I have watched, I haven't compared them to the their male counterparts at all as that would be unfair but the womans game has certainly come a long way now with countries now finanacing a professional womans game and players.

Great goal by England in the last match, a goal anyone would be proud of, male or female player.

Its actually refreshing to see someone play football without feeling the need to go down like they have been shot when someone gets within a yard of them.

Strangely one of the aspects of the game that needs to improve is the desire to play the ball out from the back no matter what. The number of teams that have been caught out within 10 yards of their own box by a high pressing opposition is alarming to say the least - and they keep doing it!

I have found myself muttering 'play it long - turn them round' so may times.

You were saying Todd, you just seen that French player take a dive to try and win a penalty

I really enjoy watching the women's game. That my be because over here we see soccer as a great sport for girls to start playing when they are young, which may explain why they are ranked so high on a yearly basis.

There's never any expectation of males playing females in other sports, so why football? 

You have to see the level of skills displayed in the womens game and not compare it to, or judge it with the male game. It is patantly clear that physiologically females and not as strong as males, so therefore cannot not generate the same level of power seen in the mens game, but it doesnt mean its any less vaild as a sport just because "its women". 

Womens sport gets f*ck all tv/ media coverage compared to mens, WHATEVER the sport might be. Which TOTALLY pisses me off, as I come from many years of competing in sport at a County and Regional level and frankly I get tired of the condicending, disparaging comments levelled at womens sport. Many professional mens football clubs would struggle for attendences if women didnt attend their sport!!

Totally agree hallam.

Once you get past its women playing, there is quality there in the top teams. USA and Germany on Tuesday should be a cracking game, and England v Japan is really interesting. Go watch the highlights of the USA v Japan final game in 2011, really good stuff.

MLS is a league that is growing in popularity and talent over here, but is not on the same level as the Premier League in England. Of course, not alot of Championship teams are on the level as Chelsea right now. Does that mean we shouldnt watch those leagues because of that? I should hope not.

The under 21 men's team has under achieved so many times including this year .

I am not knocking it at all, someone further up said something about our mens team learning a thing or two from the ladies, that is all I disagree with, I honestly don't think they would learn anything at all from them. In the field of women's soccer I am sure our Ladies team is pretty hot right now and good luck to them. it just doesnt do it for me.

Yeah was an amazing start 2-0 up after 14 minutes in Canada's back yard only for our keeper made a mistake to let Canada back in at half time and some how me managed to hold on for the win reach Semi's first time ever at the Women's World Cup. But now we face the holders Japan so gonna be massive underdogs.

These kids are supposed to be the future of English soccer. If they can't perform now or disappoint, what's that going to mean in the years to come ? Believe Southgate is the manager so maybe a change of leadership could be the way ahead.

The womens squad has done well to get to where they find themselves and a win over the host nation will be a boost for morale so wish them well in their future endeavors.

I haven't a jot of interest in watching ladies play football anymore than I have watching men play netball.

Maybe if we make it to the final maybe I'll watch just to find out what I've been missing.
