The Fourth of July is not only significant for Americans but the it's also a date the English will remember
Tonight is the 25th anniversary of England and West Germany at World Cup 1990 (Semi-final stage)
Not only relevant to the nations involved but in fact a very good game that captivated a billion people around the world and went the distance. Not easy to admit it but in all probability had the English got through that night they would have gone to win the World trophy again and a repeat of the euphoria twenty-four years previous.
Still what's done is done and history cannot be amended but here is what occured back on July 4th 1990
