Town v Middlesbrough

I'm surprised we're still playing Middlesbrough on Friday night given that they play their Carling Cup QF tomorrow night against Everton. I'd have thought they'd seek to push the game with us back to Saturday of Sunday.

Hopefully this will give us a slight advantage.

Boro out of the cup then? My thought is nothing about the ITFC v Boro game, but it is League Cup related so decided against starting another thread......., Man City, Everton, Stoke & either Southampton or Liverpool in the Semi finals. It would seem the EPL do take it seriously after all.
If Liverpool get past Southampton tonight at The Dell, hopefully they can avoid Everton in the Semis. A Mersey final would be decent.

Prizes for the first person to say......???? ..., or to say...... ???

Ah, Mike! So close. I've had a word with the adjudicator and he can't even give you half a prize.

Correct answer was , "It's St Mary's you fkn bellend, and who gives a rats nutsac about the league cup?"

You do create an area of conversation though......., Speaking of playing football in a building complex......., many years ago in the West Mill area of Edinburgh, we were contracted to turn a block of flats into an open plan office block. When all the walls were away and the floors had new concrete applied, (and prior to the huge tiled carpet squares being laid) we all played massive games of football with an indoor 5's ball. Was flippin awesome. I remember the electricians were the best players, they won all the games until a plasterer decided to empty their best player! great memories.

Got involved with the last (and only time) it occurred (League Cup) and that was way back in '84, although a replay was necessary to separate the two teams. Souness scored a fine effort to win it for them in his last season at Anfield.

Pains me to say it but Liverpool probably will win it this year. Everton usually fold on the big occasion, Stoke would be asking too much, and City have bigger objectives this term. Give it enough time and they'll scrap this competition as they did the European Cup Winners Cup. (Still frustrated to a certain extent that Town have never added this to their honors list, I don't think I'll be witness to it in this lifetime)
