McGoldrick Out For Another lengthy Spell
Apparently tore his hamstring in training before Tuesday's game and it is a bad tear.
There is no doubting the guys technical ability but tbh he has been a total sick note for the past couple of seasons and has been missing so often that we have now got to the point of getting used to him not being in the team.
I would be far more concerned if this had happened to either Murphy, Sears or Pitman as they are our main strikers now. What I am more worried about is young Bishop having another setback in his recovery and do wonder if we will see him this season and whether his problem could affect his future development.

Oh for god sake, lets hope Jose takes this bloody guy into the sunset with him. I have never known such a bloody sicknote in all my life (maybe Darren Anderton is the exception), we won't miss him at all and I don't even take it as bad news to be perfectly honest, he turned into a liability months ago. It actually makes us stronger in my book because seeing him sent on with 15 -20 minutes to go usually meant a quality striker was going off.
Murphy, Sears & Pitman put their bodies on the line week after week to earn their salaries while this guy picks it up regardless, when he does play he mopes around the bloody pitch like a sulking prima dona. Yes he may have ability when fit but it is so long ago now none of us can remember it, Pinocchio's nose runs faster than him and that is wooden !!
Last week, Luke Chambers, Alex Henshall, Teddy Bishop and Didsy came to my place of work, a colleague of mine asked to have his picture taken with the Four of them, well it was abundantly clear on the pic which one of them was not "up for it", he looked totally bloody disinterested despite the fact he was representing his club in the public domain. No time for him on or off the pitch I'm afraid to say. I would go as far as to say he is finished as a player of any note.

His body seems too fragile; he just has to kick a ball and ends up injured. Successive injuries must be hard to handle mentally, and he must question whether his career will ever fully recover. No doubt, as with Luke Varney, the club will stick with him; but I feel his best days with this club are behind him. Would love to be proved wrong, but his appalling injury record suggests not.

Wasn't much use when even fit and available.
Did well for a time but was never able to replicate his earlier achievements. Feel sorry for the player but in truth we have a number of other attackers that can do a job. If McGoldrick was available (and free from injury) for selection tomorrow, would you still include him over say Sears or Pitman ? Fit or otherwise, the player could well now be surplus to requirement.

Glad you said that, even though we are probably in a very small minority I completely agree with you.saint jude wrote:Wasn't much use when even fit and available.

In answer to your question, No I would not include him over Pitman or Sears, no way on earth, for me he is not and never has been a good team player despite his apparent "ability"

Before his first long term injury I would say he was definitely an asset and brought certain qualities to the side. However, since then he has been very much a liability and even when playing has not looked anything like the same player. Also, as has been mentioned numerous times by various posters his demeanour has seemed all wrong and has given the impression that it is all about him rather than the team.
For me Murphy, Sears and Pitman are now our main strikers and will continue to be so whatever happens with McGoldrick in the future.

Re: McGoldrick Out For Another lengthy Spell
In retrospect, the reportedly £8M Leicester offered for him a while back, would appear to have been decent business. However, such was his then level of performances and value to the team - as presumably assessed by both MM and ME - the offer was resisted. Seems a long time ago, and he's now become an injury prone fringe player. I don't agree that his contribution has been consistently poor; but he faces a real test of character, just to be able to compete against those clearly now well ahead of him.

Am I the only one who suspects that mental issues may play a big part in Didzy's ability to get back to his old dominant style. Even when playing he appears disinterested. Unfortunately I do not think we will ever see the class act again.

Re: McGoldrick Out For Another lengthy Spell
Dont know that it describe it as mental issues , but more one of ego and displacement in the side by Initially Sears, and then Murphy as the top dog with his record breaking goals scored last season. Now he hax seen Pitman come into the team, playing a very similar role , and scoring goals. McGoldrick is yesterdays news now and thererfore more akin to fish and chip paper. The bloke plays like he has a massive chipmon his shoulder. He has never looked interested since Leicester came calling, and I don't think he gas even gained fitness from his knee injury hearly 2 years ago, and has certainly lost what very little pace he had prior to injury.
When he comes on now , we are essentially IMO down to 10 men - he offers that little to the team. The sooner he leaves the better for both parties. Tough, I know, but Forest didn't offload him to Coventry for nothing. Hes never completed a full season since he's been here.
