According to official Ipswich Twitter account, we have signed Paul Digby on loan from Barnsley until the end of the season.

Who?
Seriously though we need better quality players to add to the squad, don't understand this signing at all, if Coke and Tabb can't get let alone a number of other players how is this guy gonna get in the team but good to him though...

I think you'll find this could prove to be a very shrewd signing which will lead to a permanent transfer. He's only a 20yr old with a lot of potential and has only been allowed to join Town because it's seen to be in his best interest.
I don't think we'll see much of him other than sub appearances.

20 year old. Don't know anything about him.
Googling ... very mixed details... he's 6 ft 4 and 1.75m (that doesn't fit) with 11 appearances and 22 goals ( hmmmm).... But saw that Man U gave him a trial in July as a player for the future.
England u-19 and u-20 caps..... dunno.
Could be a youngster who needs a different scene to crack on. If he was a regular starter for Barnsley then think they would not release.
We'll see... can't think he's there for promotion push.

Potentially one for the future - no issue with that.

Another unknown like Mings with any luck, more than happy to see how it goes with the lad. Great to see he was at Burnley yesterday with the lads.

Appears measurements aren't someone's forte but in any event, don't recognize this name either.tangfastic wrote:20 year old. Don't know anything about him.

Give him a run out and see what occurs, he may surprise a few people, but realistically not holding out for much.
As stated there's usually a reason why clubs loan out players, be it they're surplus to current requirement as one prime example, but as before there's no harm in giving the kid a try.

Re: Paul Digby - Loan Player
Just read on TWTD that Town boss Mick McCarthy says new loan signing Paul Digby will be viewed as a first-teamer from the off, rather than as a player initially only involved with Mark Kennedy’s development squad.
“I’ve had him here for a week, I’ve taken him with a view to being a first-team player, not to be anything else and if we can develop him and get something out of him then it’ll be a good signing,” McCarthy said.
So, there you have it from the horses mouth!
