Ben Pringle?
TWTD reporting hat MM allegedly trying to bring Fulham winger, Ben Pringle, in on loan - in addition to Dyer's ongoing short-term contract discussions.
If it happens, would definitely be a good addition.

Re: Ben Pringle?
Was keen on him when we were showing interest in the Summer, seeing as he can play central too it would be a good addition.

He's impressed me every time I've seen him play, so I hope it comes off.
Just wondering, though, why Fulham would loan him out

Hope he plays against Brizzle City; might score with a crisp shot across the keeper!
(Taxi on it's way!)
Sadly, looks as if Ryan Fraser will be out for between 6-8 weeks, inevitably affecting our play-off chances.

As someone has already said we did just fine without Fraser last time so no reason why we can't again.

Re: Ben Pringle?
Hopefully; but since returning from his last injury, he's been our best player by some distance. Removing Fraser's creative quality from a team not brimming over with it will inevitably hurt. The addition of Pringle would certainly help.

We did do fine without him, Mike - but since then we have had 2 of the people who replaced him leave the club, so I'm not convinved that we now have good enough replacementsbluemike wrote:As someone has already said we did just fine without Fraser last time so no reason why we can't again.

Re: Ben Pringle?
Yes true but with Pringle coming in we should be able to cover him with Sears, AMN and Pringle out wide, add to that Varney plays wide on occasions and while he is no Fraser or Sears he can do a job so to speak.rossi wrote:We did do fine without him, Mike - but since then we have had 2 of the people who replaced him leave the club, so I'm not convinved that we now have good enough replacementsbluemike wrote:As someone has already said we did just fine without Fraser last time so no reason why we can't again.

Re: Ben Pringle?
Deal possibly not now happening? In yesterday's Press Conference MM talks about a player he was trying to bring in, and who would have played on Saturday. Then says, now not happening. May be referring to someone else; but Pringle Bells would have been a sound addition to a currently depleted squad. (But then so would Marko!)

It'd have to be in the contract that not only water be available on the sidelines, but sour cream and onion "Pringle Bells!"herforder wrote:but Pringle Bells would have been a sound addition to a currently depleted squad. (But then so would Marko!)
Can you imagine it: commentator......,
And Herforder, diplomatic as ever, can't decide who to throw the ball to, Mach Polish or James, both free, Mach jumping up and down looking angry, James trying to look through iTunes, so Herford pumps it up field. The ball looking destined for Hallam, she should've changed out of that evening gown & heels, that bottle of red swinging dangerously as she tries to jump, ball breaks to Ashford who screams at the ball for "just being a ball", it rolls past to Mike who's owning that midfield in the banana hammock strip, (Mike, kids are watching this, get that sorted out!) but strokes......... the ball out wide to Derick but it rolls past as he checks his betting slips, Frosty tries to trap the ball, but it rolls under his foot, (he's from NZ, forgivable) and Marko sees the danger and collects the ball, he starts to dart up that wing, but what's this? He's stopped in his track....., seems like there is whiff of cream cheese Pringles around the stadium.
He trots to the bench as the opposing team collect the ball......, the striker moves forward with pace, Mach is rolling around punching the corner flag, OH NO, where is the keeper? Looks like Herford and James are Showing some silky moves enjoying the beats of Justin Beiber on the iTunes. And it's a goal, 1-0. Marko looking very pissed off as manager Barmy Billy kicks him in the nuts as he blames him for the goal. Unbelievable Jeff.

Me! The 14th Earl of Ballykickfuckall as manager? I feel privileged, but would rather have been on the pitch, although it was quite pleasing to kick Marko in the testycles.marko69 wrote:It'd have to be in the contract that not only water be available on the sidelines, but sour cream and onion "Pringle Bells!"herforder wrote:but Pringle Bells would have been a sound addition to a currently depleted squad. Re: Ben Pringle?
Welcome Ben Pringle, already looking to stay longer so lets hope it works out.Town have confirmed the loan signing of Fulham's Ben Pringle with the midfielder already eyeing a longer-term stay at Portman Road. TWTD was first to reveal that the Blues were moving for the 26-year-old as cover for the injured Ryan Fraser on Tuesday.
Pringle, who will wear the number 15 shirt while with Town, is joining for an initial month but with the option for the deal to be extended to the end of the season.
The former Rotherham man was keen to join the Blues as soon as he was aware of their interest.
"When the opportunity came up to come here on loan, it was an easy decision,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“I know Mick McCarthy’s stature in the game and what he has achieved and that was a big pulling power.
“I knew there was interest in me from Ipswich last summer when I left Rotherham. I wasn’t offered a contract here or anything like that but I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the club now.
“I spoke to Luke Varney and a few other people and they couldn’t speak highly enough of the club. I’m really looking forward to it.
“Ipswich are in a good position, challenging at the top end of the table and I’m here to help in any way I can over the rest of the season.
“After that I will see what happens. Fulham are my parent club and it will depend on what they say but if things go well for me here and Ipswich are happy with me, I’d definitely be interested in getting something done here for the future.”
Speaking about Pringle yesterday, manager Mick McCarthy said: “He’s left-sided midfield player really. Let’s clear it up, he’s not Ryan Fraser. I’ve had that discussion with him today and he fully understands that.
“But he can give you that balance on the left-hand side, he can play narrow, he can play on the inside and he has a terrific left foot, he can put great crosses in. So, if we’re playing with our strikers, they should get plenty of service.”
The Blues were previously keen on signing Pringle in the summer when he was a free agent having turned down a contract with the Millers but he joined the Cottagers on a two-year deal with an option for a further season.
Since moving to Craven Cottage the Newcastle-born wideman or central midfielder has made 15 starts and three sub appearances, scoring two goals, but his last game was on December 29th, while his most recent start came earlier that month.
Pringle joined Rotherham in 2011 from Derby County, having previously been playing in non-league with Newcastle Blue Star, Morpeth Town and Ilkeston Town, after a spell with West Brom’s academy as a youngster. While with Derby he spent time on loan with Torquay.
Pringle, whose set pieces led to both Rotherham’s goals in their 2-0 victory over the Blues in February 2015, made 154 starts and 14 sub appearances for the Millers, scoring 22 goals, and helped them to promotion from League Two as runners-up in 2012/13 and League One via the play-offs in 2013/14.
The wideman, who can also play in central midfield, looks set to make his debut in Fraser's left-sided role at Bristol City tomorrow.

Re: Ben Pringle?
This could be a good loan move. Good age and previous experience. Not sure why he's not deemed good enough for Fulham, but hope it's just because his face doesn't fit with new manager ( maybe a ginger or strawberry blond hater).
Sounds like there could be a possibility of a permanent contract if it goes well. He's most likely not the same quality as Fraser, but the thing with Fraser was I couldn't see how he would be our player one day.
