Unfortunately Mike, until the quality of our football improves and the entertainment value increases we stand to lose more season ticket holders than we recruit new ones. Furthermore, the added problem is that once people get out of the habit of going it's hard to get them back.
On the positive side, if we get close to the play offs playing badly, most season ticket holders will renew thinking we can only improve next season.
A couple of back to back wins and everything changes, Tuesday & Saturday maybe ?

I know several people who are considering whether it's worthwhile having a season ticket next year due to the number of night games we have played this season.
They have not been able to make them because of work and if they have to miss a Saturday game at any time as well then with the number of promotional games we now have a season they may very well be better off by not having a season ticket.
It does seem we have had more mid-week matches this season although this might not be the case.

Yes I will be renewing 3 year season ticket again as I support my team through thick and thin no matter what moaners keep on moaning week in week out even when we win.

To be honest Andy we heard it all last season too and the number of season ticket holders went up, Shed has a point regarding the number of night games this season which has been high and I think may be a one off but aside from that the figures will be much the same next campaign, in my opinion of course.

Yea, only 13 of 23 games played on a Saturday afternoon isn't many. That said I always enjoyed night games and thought Portman Road had a much better atmosphere under flood lights than day light but that may have had something to do with many night games being European fixtures. Those were the days.

Never to return unfortunately and in some ways it is because of these glory days/years that the players of today and more recent years are on a loser such is the comparisons, us Town fans love to live in the past.

I don't think we're on our own Mike, you only have to look at the Championship table and see names like Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers & even Woolfies Wolves, soon to be joined possibly by Aston Villa and Newcastle United. History and memories of the past are simple reminders of the good times that keep us fans dreaming that success could come back to our football clubs.
If Leicester City do win the Premier League title this season just 7 years after winning the League One title, it will lift the spirits of fans across the country and make us all believe that our once great clubs could become champions again.

When enough time passes, you can officially be labelled as living in the past. Mid 1950's, Hibs were not only a force in Britain, but Europe. The first British club to compete in Europe were indeed Hibernian in 1955. What a team that was. Everyone feared playing Hibs. And there are old guys in their 70's/80's with dementia kicking in, talking about the "Glory days" and Hibs being the "Sleeping giant", etc etc. But that era of football, including Robsons 78-81 years are absolutely gone forever and ever. For Hibernian or Ipswich Town to win the SPL or EPL respectively, they'd need Saudi Arabian men who own banks to move in. That ain't going to happen. And I'm happy about that.
