I suspect many just can't quite believe it. Absolutely fantastic for Leicster City and it's supporters, and the huge number of neutrals who were willing Leicster to do it. Turns the usual order of things in its head. Brilliant!

Great for football, and giving hope to all those clubs and supporters that maybe, just maybe, a seemingly unobtainable dream can come true.

Make sure you enjoy it to the max, all you Foxes fans. Get the CR statue erected as soon as you like!

It's a strange thing to find yourself doing a jig and punching the air celebrating a Chelsea equaliser that allows a team you don't support to win a league title, but it probably sums up what a momentous season it has been in the top flight.

First new team to take top honours since Forest in 78 I believe.

Congratulations to Leicester.

If this had occurred three or four years back it would (from a personal perspective) have generated more interest or understanding of the magnitude of the achievement, but have lost (such) significant interest in the game in the time since, that can't feel motivated enough to offer the full extent of plaudits they deserve.

Take nothing away, what they have achieved there is something extraordinary, something no-one could have seen coming before start of season and they've put something on the honors list that may never be duplicated.

Got to feel a level of sympathy for Tottenham, and while enduring arguably the best league campaign since Bill Nicholson in the 1960's and names such as Blanchflower, Greaves, White and MacKay on teamsheets, they came close in the end but fell at the last.

Guess people get so mesmerized about one team's achievement, there can be oversights with other clubs endeavors.

Nine yellows for Spurs and the gouging has done nothing for them and the overall behavior of both teams was disgusting.
Get your pocket money on Everton to poop the Foxes party now.

Yep a truly well done to the Foxes, you have a super owner who's not afraid to stump up the required funds, and mix with the fans, and a super manager that allows his team to play footie on the ground, if only we had such wonderful backing from our hide a seek owner, and a manager that's not afraid to get his team to express themselves openly on the pitch with entertaining footie and please their supporters, I think hell will freeze over before that happens here at PR

I think youre being a bit ungrateful towards the man that has essentially kept this Club as a going concern and with MM has almost made it into the top 6 again this year despite habingntge guts if the team ripped out of it by season long injuries.

Without Evans Yearly £6m ( on top of what he pays in players newly negotiated contracts/wages), this Club would be long gone down the plug hole. Fact , Im afraid.

Ipswich Town.!! With back to back promotions from the bottom division right through to Division 1 to become English League Champions under Sir Alf Ramsey.

The media seem to forget this and focus on Forest.

If Leicester had finished second in this year's league I'd warrant they'd hardly have had a mention despite what even then, would have been a marvellous achievement. Years back you'd remember teams like Watford or Queens Park Rangers coming within touching distance of first place in the top division, but nobody outside of their own club remembers them or, recalls what they achieved at those times. Seems second place gets your nowhere and there's no place for runners-up regardless of who you are and as mentioned, would have been interesting to see what had occurred had they missed out at the very end.

Gave the (Leicester championship) achievement some further thought today and still take issue it's labeled the greatest sporting achievement ever by some individuals. Maybe these are the same number who believe that English "football" didn't evolve until after 1992 and the advent of the EPL, or they've been limited to so little sports entertainment there's not an abundance in options or their vision is too restricted for opinion.

Obviously one major factor in it being the surprise it is, is due to Leicester never having won the top league or finishing anywhere near it for as long as people can recall it in living memory. They've arrived from "nowhere" (despite being league two winners in 2014) to take the EPL champions label and all it seems, in no time at all.

Remain resolute that what Nottingham Forest achieved in 1977 - 78 was more substantial, and if you're going to argue that, then the two European Cup wins (add to that two league cup wins and a runners up in the (then) first division 1979) at that same time and two years ahead, will offer a safe enough defense.

Maybe it'll be hard for them to keep hold of their star assets like Vardy in the immediate time ahead as one of Europe's 'more recognized names' may provide them with an offer that's too good to refuse. And as for Ranieri, the lure of a role at a more illustrious club outfit may well come his way in the time ahead, but it's presumption above all else.

On that note, Bayern Munich (this years European favorites) may be hunting for new management after today's champions league exit, and Ranieri and Leicester would be a very good place to start after the heroics of what the former has performed and included to his expanding resume.

I'll tell you what......, if there is ever an EPL "wind & pish" league, you'd be crowned champion every year, buddy.

Why have you got a bit of a chip on your shoulder about Leicester City? Are you having a problem with the joy it's creating the world over? YOU YOURSELF over the years have spoken about the repetitiveness of the leagues and it being the same teams competing........, well it's Leicester City now. Enjoy it.

And 1/, no one is saying that what Forest did was sh*t; it's just a long time ago and the world works in "the now". Back in 80, when Forest retained the EC by beating Hamburg, I remember then people saying it was "the greatest ever achievement"......, but time moves on,

And 2/ Leicester have never been in League two.

League Two was in response to the second league of English "football" i.e. the division we find now find ourselves. I don't know if Leicester have ever been outside of the top two leagues (as mentioned) but if true, then it comes as a surprise despite what they have achieved this year.

Furthermore I don't have an issue with the Midlands club winning the league, hell i'd favor them over the usual boring contenders but even on a rival (town) forum there was an extensive piece about the magnitude of what has occurred and has it been blown out of all proportion. (I did neither inaugurate or participate (in) the article in question but it's there to read nonetheless)

Bottom line you can put it down to other aspects of life intruding on present time. As mentioned before, had this occurred four or five years back it would have generated more excitement or from a personal viewpoint, have been far more recognized and applauded, but finding things difficult at the best of times regardless of who achieves what, where, and when, in this current climate.

As an illustration, can recall vividly when Manchester City won the EPL on the final afternoon in 2012. Scored twice in the final minute to beat Queens Park Rangers and back then, it was an incredible turnaround and prevented Manchester United from winning the league. Got caught up in the moment and by god (for a few minutes at least) it was a feeling that money can't buy, but back then life was of a better quality and far detached from more recent years. Take nothing away from Leicester and what they have done, in the sub-concious I realize it's an outstanding feat and they deserve all the accolades going but the best defense I can offer for not giving them the recognition they truly deserve is down to the relevant aforementioned situation.

As an afterthought, had it been us (had we beaten Norwich and Middlesbrough in those play-off games last year) and done what they had achieved, then by all means, the reaction (from this end) of 'f**king hell, this is extraordinary' would have been first and foremost and obviously (regardless of personal issues) would have represented unambiguous praise and excitement, but it's not - it's another team - and as one who doesn't follow Leicester City, doesn't reside in Leicester, doesn't attend Leicester games or focuses little on the EPL anymore, just can't feel the vibrancy and achievement like some others.

It's not an attack on what they have done or any level of criticism, only the way it is right now.

Saint, as you no doubt know, it's:
1/ EPL
2/ Championship
3/ league one
4/ league two.......

Leicester were in league One a few years ago. It would've been like Norwich or Southampton winning it. Can't speak for Norwich, but prior to Southampton offloading almost their entire, (very good) squad, they were a lot less than 5000/1 to win the title. A few actually fancied them under Koeman....., certainly more fancied than Leicester, who if I'm not mistaken......, weren't fancied at all by ANYONE outside of Leicester.

Liz:
I'm not being ungrateful about ME at all, and I thank him for that take over, but it just grates on mine and many thousands of other fans nerves re ME tactics of hiding, and the lack of real investment when needed, lets get a take on what we've sold player wise, Wickham £9 million, Creswell £4.5 million, Mings £8 million that alone is nearly £22 million, how much has been reinvested back (as was promised by Milne in a club statement) in quality players ???? nothing of any significance, had a lot of crap signings, we had this player injury crisis in the January window and nothing was done about it, I think Micks reply of I'm ok with what I've got?? nothing much quality wise, was to appease ME, and after 15 bloody seasons in this championship, its about time we made a very serious investment of a couple or three quality players to push on, to cover any bad injuries we will incur during the season, and stop playing fooking hoof ball, thank God and Bryan Klug we do have some good academy players coming through, and we've seen what they can do play wise, so lets stop being a nearly club and next season make a go of it and get auto,

 And re the statement of the club going down the plughole, if we had done say a Southampton, Bournemouth, Pompey, etc. and gone down it might not have been such a bad thing, as all have come back stronger and pushed on, you look at the teams that have done this, gone down a couple of leagues, and came back stronger and are now very successful ??

For every team that has gone down and come back stronger I can name more that have gone tits up.

Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Doncaster, Oldham, Swindon, Sheff Utd, Coventry, Barnsley & Bradford have all been in the Championship or top flight at some point and are now struggling on and off the pitch. Add to that teams like Fulham & QPR who have come down and been fighting to keep their heads above the dotted line despite spending Millions. There is NEVER anything good about dropping down another league, absolutely nothing. Only once have we come close to it and thanks to ME for appointing MM and MM himself we got out of it.
