hahahahaha - if anybody ever wanted proof that that tosser MM has lost it, here it is - kept out of the team by the form of other midfielders indeed, what the same midfielders that are creating so many chances for our one forward?

A Little worring to say the least. One would hope this is just paper talk,as it clearly is´nt working quite right for us just now. MM is doinging himself no favours in these soundites but maybe hes saying something different to the players behind the scenes.
One Things for sure something has to change Things simply are not working and the NeXT two games are critical we should win both to stave off real fears of a religation battle......and I dont think Im being mellowdramatic.

I think MM will approach these games exactly as he's approached the other games, unfortunately.

Right now it's reached a point where you'd just about be willing to lose any immediate games ahead : if it resulted in termination of McCarthy's employment. Don't get me wrong, in normal circumstances I wouldn't want Town to lose any game, but to sacrifice two or three games in order to potentially save the rest of the campaign ahead, you would believe a good number would take that chance.
Season ahead right now doesn't offer much promise so long as it remains unchanged. (Pick up a few points on route to end of season, eventual safe from any relegation threat but slim to no chance of ever seeing a promotion, out of the FA Cup at the earliest time possible etc)
f*ck that, I'd be looking at something more substantial. Changes need to occur while there's still ample time to do something in the season, because as before, if it remains as it is, the club will finish another year as underachievers and looking back on yet more substantial time of missed opportunity.

MM would be better of saying nothing at the moment.
It seems like he's trying to provoke a bit of reaction from the fans.
That aside, it doesn't give much expectation for the younger players trying to break into the side when he makes comments like that.
We know there's a pecking order and undroppable players... so no need to rub our faces in it.

Watch this space, I am not sure two wins are going to make any difference.

Definitely agree.
I'm hoping he's not so pissed off that he's messing with the fans. He's already admitted that he hears what's being voiced about the midfield and formations etc etc so guessing he's maybe stirring it with this.
If the story is true,......, stop that sh*t, Mick. Just get the ITFC back to winning ways.
Must admit though...... Nothing through fan or press reports is suggesting Douglas needs dropped.

Been really dumbstruck after these comments. This what he's said is a clear dig at fans.
A bit of drama queen from me but it's been a very difficult period of late for me Ipswich Town wise because I feel like a fool now. I was a staunch Micks fan. Stood by him for very long time whereas others didn't. Hoofball or attractive football it never really bothered me as long as we win games. It's always been results business for me. Ugly, boring 1-0 wins always do for me as long as we win.
Of course there are good and bad periods in football and Mick deserves a gratitude for the mess he sorted following disaster made by Jewell.
But now Mick takes a p*ss out of the fans every time we have go at his team / tactics etc etc by making outrageous comments. Also this: 'the more calls for changes the less likely there will be changes'.
His comments and doing exactly opposite to what fans want....... how can I defend and support him?
Last few weeks and his team served us up with pathetic performances. He said after the Leeds game: 'we were poor and deserved to lose'. Huddersfield game: 'I expected more from my players'......Then all of sudden yesterday he said his dinosaurs in central midfield have been playing so well. How on earth can he make such contradiction? No, he can't. This is a dig at fans. It's so clear. It's so obvious.
He doesn't do anything for the good of ITFC. It's his personal pride what matters for him. When something doesn't work out he'll stubbornly stick to this as he won't admit his mistakes / stupidity. His methods or nothing for Ipswich Town. Doesn't give a sh1t about fans at all. It's all about his personal pride.
Our policy is what make things so depressing too. We are being owned by retard, by a crook who has no ambitions to make the club better and stronger. So even if Mick goes I don't know who can do a better job when relying on cheap rejects and loanees.
Real crisis of faith for me as I have no bloody clue where my beloved ITFC go from here. Arrogant self-obsessed person as a manager, disinterested crook as an owner.
I'm going both Blackburn and Newcastle this month. I will never stop attending Town games. Never ever. But I'm feeling very low at the moment with the way the club is being run.

Quote from the Sudbury Mercury:
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game at fellow Championship strugglers Blackburn, McCarthy said: “I heard the reaction after the last game. If they want to get shot of me, and they want change and want to do something else, I can’t affect that.
“I’m not bothered. All I can do is try and get back to when they weren’t calling for my head – and that’s by getting results.
“If we go to Blackburn, get something, then beat Burton (at home) on Tuesday night, suddenly we’ll have a different feeling.
MM says, I'm not bothered. These are the sort of comments by MM that really p*ss me off. What about all the fans who bother to buy season tickets, and travel all over the country to see Ipswich play? What about the fans who have bothered to stick with Ipswich Town for decades? What about the fans who have bothered to stick up for you, Mick?...when you've served up some of the worst football ITFC has ever played! Can you imagine Bobby Robson saying I'm not bothered what the fans think???
Fair enough, Sir Bobby is a long distant memory now...but for the sake of the club MM...in case you bother to p*ss off, I'm not bothered either!

To be honest, 9...... Unless a journo has those words from Mick on a dictaphone somewhere, I do not believe it.

Reading the above quote verbatim, it doesn't sound like something McCarthy would say ? Maybe the news publication in question isn't say 'the most reliable of source' and remain skeptical it was indeed our manager's own words.
Furthermore the line "I can't affect change etc" would seem absurd in itself. (McCarthy can improve the situation by actually having us win games and improving results, or does he seem himself without blame regards whatever occurs to the team out there ?)
As for the 'not bothered' issue, it could be interpreted that McCarthy is more focused on results than what the media or supporters have to say, but as before, it's doubtful that it even came from the manager himself to begin with.

I'm absolutely sure he would say that. On the other hand, I didn't take it that he didn't care about what happens with ITFC, just that he would criticism on the chin and that was part of the job.
Just think he's put himself into his stubborn ' I know better than you' little corner where he's not willing to admit he's wrong.
Mick could always have a bit of freedom with what he says and enjoy being a bit of a dry wit. People aren't buying it anymore. The honeymoons long gone.
His football style always been result-driven, so he'd be better of not being slack-mouthed and get results.
On that note.... Blackburn 0 Town 3 ; and a 'f*ck you, I know what I'm doing' post match interview from Mick.

I don't agree with the statement at all, but why do so many fans get so offended after every sarcastic 'dig' Mick makes at us, but are more than happy to throw abuse at him on a regular basis. Even the OP brands him as a tosser. Don't give what you can't take and all that.

Sorry! I've had an eventful few months. I check up on the site every now and then, just haven't had time to really contribute! Still following the Town closely though
I'll try and be around more often now though.

People probably get offended because he's the one person responsible for picking the team and the one person we rely on for taking us forward. I don't think Mick has taken criticism well recently and he's not given it back well.
He has a good contract and many fans put a lot of their money towards the club. If he wants to engage in a pointless feud with fans by things he says and hinting that he will deliberately not pick players to p*ss of the fans.... what does he expect and how is it good for ITFC?
In this case, I think he's been misinterpreted a bit, but in other interviews he's winding up the fans unecasarily.
Jack, I see where Markos coming from .... good to see another's point of view apart from moan, moan, moan ... but this is not MMFC.

I think you'll find in life that the more mouthy of individuals can't really take their sh*te being returned at them. The more mouthy also feel comfort in numbers. Put any one of the disgruntled Ipswich Town fans in a room, one to one with Mick, and they'll no doubt ask for his autograph!

It's absolutely unnecessary for him to wind up the fans, I agree. But the point I'm trying to make is that it's also unnecessary for us to be so aggressive and hateful in our criticisms of him. It doesn't matter what kind of contract he's on or what kind of job he's doing, the point is that he's a person single handedly taking on thousands of fans calling him every name under the sun because of football. So is it really that much of a surprise that he holds a slight resentment towards us? If we think it's okay to do that, we shouldn't be surprised when it comes back at us.
Before you respond with 'But he's paid a lot of money to deal with that sort of thing.' I don't think you'd quite realise how it feels to be in that kind of position, because I sure as hell wouldn't deal with it.
