This is borderline relegation form.

Since letting Daryl Murphy leave Town at the end of August we've picked up just five points from five games in September and exactly the same five from five in October scoring just six goals in the ten games played and failing to score in six of these fixtures.

Like it or not this is borderline relegation form and to be honest it's not looking good.

Most football clubs would most definitely trigger a change in manager given a similar situation and whilst I admire Towns loyalty to managers over the years I really can't see anything changing whilst MM continues his current approach to games.

As I've said before I'd much prefer a change in ownership but to be honest that seems highly unlikely so maybe MM will need to go first.

Any thoughts..?

Like i was saying to a mate yesterday, if we change the manager then good but Evans needs to be willing to give him money in the January transfer market.

I think a new manager will be more adaptable than MM. We need someone who knows how to use the strength in the team, and someone who can instill attacking football into the team. Right now, it's obvious the players aren't being motivated by MM. It's also obvious MM has run out of ideas. ME needs to make a decision before January, or I do fear we may be in a relegation battle by the end of the season. I'm not sure we'll be able to recover if the inevitable occurs.

Opinion alert......, but I'm also beginning to think that maybe the players are in fact just Shyte. Maybe time for a new boss, but possibly a brand new set of players also. Re-build. Gel.

Etc etc etc

As I've said before just can't see Evans getting rid of Mick yet.
If I remember correctly it was reported at the end of Jewell's time in charge that it was a case of him going to Evans and saying that enough was enough rather than Marcus wielding the axe. Can't see MM doing that.
Only time will tell.

Yeah if ME ever dips in his pockets, otherwise we'll be getting the same 'type' of players even under a new manager. I know, I know I'm stating the obvious...

Funny you should say that Marko as I said to somebody after the game yesterday that perhaps us fans think certain players are better than they actually are.

Regarding Jewell going to Mevans......, Didn't know that, Shed. Was that ever proved to be true?

Not sure but I definitely read it somewhere. As always with these things only the parties involved really know the truth.

Trying to envisage that meeting....., in Mevans office, on his knees "PLEASE, Marcus, I can't walk away. Just back from the 'Dam, red light district. I'm skint! Sack me with compensation! PLEASE!"

I think you are quite right Marko, apart from a small handful the squad is dross, most of them signed by MM. Sadly, I don't think the situation will change anytime soon. MM said on the radio yesterday that he will not leave of his own volition and I cannot see him being sacked.

So we go on with the same crap which is slowly dragging us slowly downwards. Not a very nice outlook is it.

Maybe they aren't as good as some think, that said I think as a team they should be capable of more than Mick has been getting from them over the past couple of months, and if he can't achieve more from the current squad i'm pretty sure there are others who could.

Thinking back it was Mick himself who got more from a poor squad than the previous manager however he seems to have lost his way a bit and become stale and lacking in self motivation.

In my opinion it's time for a change and time to freshen things up....

MM stated in local radio post-match interview that he had no intention of quitting - fully intends to stay and sort it out. No surprise there, then£££! Has ME's confidence and support etc. (Although not necessarily sufficient financial support - my words).

With MM's starting set up yesterday, the whole team had a more positive look to it, and actually played some decent stuff in the first half (less the goal against). But with their second goal, all that changed - individual performances dropped, showing how fragile confidence is, and demonstrating (again) that we lack quality. Struggling to a fortunate draw against the league's bottom team, isn't all down to MM/TC's tactics, coaching or team selection. It's as much down to the players - they're the ones on the pitch, and have to accept that responsibility and perform. Subconsciously, all the flak being aimed at MM gives them a get out of jail card.

Unlikely the team would see a relegation. McCarthy is too defense minded for it to be a tangible concern.

Expect making up enough points by end of season to find ourselves in lower mid-league and not much else to go with it.

With regards McCarthy having little intention of stepping aside any time soon, that's what you would expect from it. Not only too obstinate for his own good, why walk away from something that pays so well and where someone in a higher chain of command than yourself can see no wrong in what you do, no matter how poor your efforts and performance ?

Yes, that is English. Sort of. This is the Yorkshireman’s motto and translates as follows: “Hear all, see all, say nothing. Eat all, drink all, pay nothing. And if you ever do anything for nothing—always do it for yourself.”

What does that mean? Is it quiz show prizes now? Lower mid-league and just missing out on a speed boat?
