Three of our next four games at home........

Post by Charnwood » Mon Nov 14, 2016 10:26 am

With three of our next four Saturday games to be played at Portman Road against teams lower than us in the table this presents us with a brilliant opportunity to pick up 9 points, but we all know this League isn't quite as simple as this.

Looking at these three games;

Town v Forest - (Forest only one point from their last four games)
Town v QPR. - (QPR only four points from their last four games)
Town v Cardiff City. - (Cardiff City only four points from their last four games)

By comparison Town's recent form is much better having picked up 7 points from the last four games played losing only once at Newcastle United who are by far the best team in the Championship.

Given where we are in the table just 6 points off the play off zone and only 6 points above the relegation zone, 9 points from these games presents a "season changing" opportunity, but how many points do you expect us to achieve.

I'll stick my neck out and say we'll get 7.

It's a funny old game (football). You just never know!!!
I think we'll pick up 5 points from the three home games!!
QPR being a tough one to call.

Particularly with a new manager in post. How many times have we faced struggling opposition within a few days of them appointing a new manager who often gets an immediate reaction from the players making it difficult to play against.

In fact thinking about it, QPR(Nov16) and Cardiff(Oct'16) have both recently appointed managers and even Forest only appointed Philippe Montanier at the start of the season.

Just relief to get back to domestics and with this team you know full well nothing ever goes to plan.

You bring to attention some opposition teams enduring a poor run or only registering small points totals in recent games, but when you look at ourselves is that really going to make that much of a difference.

Bottom line, the last game saw certain areas of encouragement but many aren't going to be won over on the basis of one improved score. Team's let us down on so many occasions that you just can't plan ahead.

Evaluated the opposition and believe four points will arise from it.

Nottingham Forest 3
Queens Park Rangers 1
Cardiff City 0

I too am going for 7 points which is what I predicted on the "Next 6" thread a while back, add to that a pont at Bristol City and that will be 12 points from those 6 games which is more than acceptable.....if it happens of course !!

Suspect QPR will get back to winning ways at their next game, eh len, when the new manager syndrome will kick in. I pity the team they play next , especially if that team can't buy a win against poor teams right now

Would prefer to wait and see if all the troops come back fit. If so then I see 9 points and lots of goals for.

If we are taking into account the last 4 games it's a shame we aren't playing the team from up the A140 as they have only taken 1 point during this period.

I will go for 5 points.

3 home games.

9 points = Mick is a genius and we're looking at top six.

7 points = Good form - We're in the running for top six.

6 points = Far more cup half full, than cup half empty.

5 points = can live with that, unbeaten games, but dropped 4 points at home. Average form.

4 points = below average and this home form won't push us up table.

1 - 3 points = MICK OUT will come into force again.

0 points = Pack your bags, Mick.

I'll go for 5 points.

hmmmmm - if I remember correctly, I tipped us to get 4 points from these games in the 'Next 6' thread.
Don't see any reason to amend that.

Who did those teams lose to in the last few games. it's hard to judge the opposition based on their last results and expect to win because of that. That being said I would like to see us take maximum points Wish prediction..... Town 2 Forest 0, Town 1 QPR 0, Town 2 Cardiff 1, actual prediction Town 2 Forest 0, Town 2 QPR 1, Town 1 Cardiff 1. If that makes sense

One thing for sure, we certainly won't be picking up 7 points from these three games after screwing up what was potentially the easier of the three fixtures scheduled.

Maybe at best we could pick up 3 points from these games, however if we play like we did today the answer will be "Nil poi".

We will be lucky to scrape a draw in one of those games. We need to invest in some good players when that transfer window opens.
