RIP Rick Parfitt

Very sad to learn of Rick Parfitt's passing, at the age of 68. Can recall seeing him with Quo long before they morphed into Levi-clad Rockers - Pictures of Matchstick Men in their psychedelic phase!
Many, many years later in Berlin, on a tour they called 'In Search of the Fourth Chord'. Great sense of humour, and refusal to take himself too seriously. But outstanding at what he did with the band, whose longevity means they've been doing something right. Learn 3 chords, become millionaires - simples!
Condolences to his close family, at what will be an even more difficult time for them.

Yes, just read this on BBC News website. Very sad indeed, especially the words from Rick Parfitt Jnr.
RIP Rick. You'll be missed.

Was sorry to learn of the news. The group are easily one of the most recognized acts world over and have released some memorable work spanning considerable time.
Cannot recall a calendar year where so many famous names and celebrities have departed, but take the opportunity to pass on condolences to Mr Parfitt's immediate family and those that knew him.

So, so sad about this - he was a really underrated guitarist, probably the best rhythm guitarist in the world, but most importantly of all was a top bloke. RIP mate

Indeed so sad, and while I am not a fan how sad it is to hear of George Michael's passing on Christmas Day at the age of 53. RIP to you both. Xx

There's still a few days left in 2016 as well. I bet Keith Richards will breathe a little easier come January 1st.

Yes, RIP George Michael, at a relatively young age. Didn't really care too much for his stuff, but recognise his talent as a writer, producer and performer. Someone who found fame - which he said himself came easily to him - very hard to deal with. But another one gone in a year of music world losses.
(Famous line from Keef on being interviewed somewhere: 'Well it's good to be here. But then, when you're me, it's good to be anywhere"!

Yes, it was an unfortunate end to Christmas Day. We all have our heroes....., who we've seen 10+ times live in concert over the years, (Marillion for me) but Wham and George Michael was my wife's. She burst into tears as the news came in. Proper mascara down the face crying. Not nice to see. No denying the guy was superb and unique...... RIP, George, you'll be sorely missed, especially in my house.
