We've peaked under McCarthy and Evans on Dec 30th 2014. Gradual decline ever since.

Oozing confidence, sitting 2nd comfortably in the table. The best chance for many years to get out of this league.
We just needed some kind of Marcus Stewart signing in January or other significant help from Evans. What did we do? Spent 100k and also brought in loanees in Chaplow and Varney, unwanted in their parent clubs.

Nothing, literally nothing has been done to make us stronger and better in these 2 years. Not even vision for the team, no moulding the team for the future. 'Proper blokes' week in week out in the team regardless of form. Plus short term fixes along the way to fill the gaps in the team. Coke, Toure, Best, Varney, unfit players etc etc..... this is the policy of this club.

Feeling really sad today. Depressing lack of ambition from the club results in what we have today.

Those games over the holiday period that year were probably the most excited I'd been about the team since when Joe Royle was manager. The win at Brentford (especially) was something special : complete polar opposite from the sh*t we had invariably endured from Magilton to Roy Keane - you thought for a time after that we were automatic promotion material but it quickly eroded and we never were able to recapture the standard of those few weeks.

Yes you're right also that it was a wasted opportunity. The chance was there to build on the progress but proper arrangements weren't undertaken and the pinnacle of the fine work achieved was ultimately neglected. Haven't come anywhere near in the time since where you really felt the team was properly equipped to challenge and finally leave the championship league after so many years at the same level.
