You take into consideration previous names i.e. owners and chairmen who have been involved with us such as the Cobbold brothers and Sheepshanks. The latter may have had his critics at some stage of involvement but at least his heart was in the right place. Evans appears to possess no immediate interest in the welfare of the club and in fact, has declared the club in worse condition from when he took control some 10 years back.
Club debt may well have doubled in that time, oversaw the tenures of Keane, Jewell, possibly Magilton when first arriving. All names provided stayed on longer than was necessary and did little to establish ourselves once again as a top level club side.
What's bizarre is that while Evans had been in "control" at Portman Road for best part of a decade, he still remains something of an unknown commodity to many people such is his reclusive nature and decision to stay out of focus when the club is most in it's time of need. Gave a moment earlier today to consider our immediate future if things were to remain as they are (McCarthy and Evans still in position) and in all truth can't see any hope of regaining our previous stature.
By that, Not talking about going back 35 years and taking on Europe's best and competing for the League Championship, merely being involved once more in the top league and viewing some capable players and entertaining play that could (at least) provide a fighting chance to remain within it - possibly more.
Going to wait until the close season to risk castigating names further, but it's just about imperative a new manager is found. Evans is arguably the bigger issue of the two, but we need someone who picks the team and deploys formation to be a little more inventive than the current baboon who oversees it.
