Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
Gregory could be an option but Millwall would be unwilling to sell one of their star assets so soon after a promotion. Had the South London club remained in League One they may have let him go but first priority will be to build on last seasons play-off win and establish themselves once again at Championship league status.
Haven't heard of the other kid, may have got some reviews here and there but would be skeptical taking a gamble on such an unknown quantity. You mentioned the question of price but once again today's transfer fees are so goddamn erratic you won't know what you're expected to pay or if indeed an accurate valuation. In truth I wouldn't expect either of them to arrive, the former would be the more expensive and little chance bringing in on loan. Pity because he's a good player, there's always scope for attention elsewhere.

I really hope we would try to sign him on a permanent basis. I've seen him play atbRight Back and CB and looks to be very well capable and assured in either position. Him and Webster at CB would look pretty good IMO

Think MM has tried to sign both if them last season, nothing came of it. Suspect fees and wages all too much for Evans budget!K L Blue wrote:http://soccersouls.com/2017/07/28/here- ... king-woes/

Thing is Hallam, We're supposed to be in for Bogle from Wigan along with QPR, Perhaps if they win perhaps we could get Washington instead.hallamblue wrote:Think MM has tried to sign both if them last season, nothing came of it. Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
I don't know much about Bogle, but he did well in League 2 but didn't set the world on fire at Wigan in the Championship last season.
I read that Paul Cook says he doesn't suit their style and wants to offload. Reading between the lines and some reports it suggests he's got a bit of an attitude problem. Cook knows League 2 and should know how capable Bogle is.
If we've got limited budget and with inflated fees.... does 850k now seem like a bit of a low-risk punt? We've got more chance of getting more out of Bogle than Kieffer Moore. He's 6 ft 3' and if he doesn't fit into Cook's passing philosophy he could be perfect for MM.
Not keen on any more loans.... Celinas hopefully will be a Larwence/Fraser replacement, but if he have too many loans who move on after a year, the team will never grow.

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
While it goes against the grain to read or take notice of anything anyone off TWTD says/posts there is a guy on there who claims to come from Grimsby and has seen Bogle a lot and thinks he is just not good enough for this level and while I like to draw my own conclusions on players I do think we should be looking just that little bit higher, of course he could be the next "find" from the lower leagues but I would have thought at his age he would have been found by someone by now, im just undecided on him if I am honest.

I suppose that's an option.hallamblue wrote:Why the hell dont we try abroad??
Not sure how good our scouting network is abroad. We got Knudsen from abroad, I suppose. Just a feeling, but I get the impression MM is not keen on looking outside the country. Seems to like players he's managed before or scores against us. Not sure if too many Johnny Foreigners would fit into the picture with Mick. He likes a solid pro who's btought up on pie and chips IMO.
Can't keep on looking in non-league. Hopefully, Rowe will come good, but we if they're some unpolished diamonds there..... we tend to pick up a striker like Moore who can't get into a top non-league side and is surplus to requirements.
Might be an opportunity for our youth team strikers, but get the impression they're a few years off in MM's mind. Love to see these kids get decent year long loans in League 1 or 2, but seem only good enough to interest non-league clubs.

"We got Knudsen from abroad" That in itself is good enough reason NOT to go abroad LOL.

I think you raise a valid issue ...how good is our network abroad? I don't think it's as good as I could / should be and we need to address it.

Thst doesn't mean players are not there to be found. Town are simply not looking in that direction......it can't all come from lower leagues in the English game.

I have to assume that we got Celina from abroad. I know he is Man City owner but he played all his footy last year in the Netherlands.

Load of links this morning with Harry Bunn of Huddersfield for £500-£660kderick_ipsw wrote:Where is are new and striker you promised Mccarthy? Season starts Saturday.
Can play on the wing or striker

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
Ipswich Fans........ if Bunn arrives....... do the chorus of this small 2 minute song, please. Sing it very loud during televised games.

Long story short, that's Fish (ex Marillion) and in the early 80's, during encore time at Marillion gigs, Fish would throw sticky buns into the audience. I caught a Belgian bun one night at the barras, but that b*stard must've nicked the cherry off it.
Come on, ITFC FANS......, GIZ A BUN...,

Bunn would be a very good signing, especially at 500K, lots of fans have been saying we could do with another wide man and this fits that bill as well as being versatile in other areas too.

Interesting to see that Bunn is nowhere to be seen in the Huddersfield squad playing in Austria tonight.

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
I found that curious, it almost smacks of disappointment. Normally we don't hear about bids being lodged until after they are completed or rejected. Why do we hear about it this time? Does it mean that it has already been rejected and the club wants us to know that we tried?
Very strange.......
