Town and Norwich City are reported to be among the Championship clubs eyeing out-of-contract Cardiff City midfielder Tom Adeyemi, who has spent the season on loan with relegated Rotherham United.

The 25-year-old has been made what Millers boss Paul Warne describes as a “really impressive offer” at the New York Stadium but Norwich-born Adeyemi, who scored the South Yorkshire side’s winning goal against the Blues last month, is keen to stay in the Championship.

According to the Sheffield Star the Blues are “heading the Championship clubs” interested in Adeyemi with his former side Norwich also interested.

Adeyemi came through the ranks at Carrrow Road and spent time on loan at Bradford, Oldham and Brentford before moving on to Birmingham on a permanent basis in 2013 having been released by the Canaries.

After a year at St Andrew’s the 6ft 1in tall midfielder joined Cardiff for a fee in excess of £1 million. Having failed to establish himself as a regular with the Bluebirds in 2014/15, he moved on to Leeds on a season-long loan the following season.

Adeyemi, who qualifies to play international football for Nigeria, joined Rotherham in August last year on a similar basis and went on to score seven goals in 29 starts and one sub appearance for the Millers.
Likelihood 6/10 excitement level 5/10

But don't rush into thinking he's signing for Lambo at Wolves. will Lambert be making any signings.

breaking news,
Karanka destined for Wolves job?

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/03/16/sa ... olves-job/

The kicker is that he is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who works in partnership with Wolves owners Fosun International.
Karanka to Wolves? It all seems a bit too obvious not to happen.

What the hell has happened to Paul Lambert? He's been one of the worst managers out there since his Norwich job. Did Delia cast a spell on him or something when he walked out the Carrot Toad door?

I see elsewhere fans starting to rip into the club regarding Bart, first off we cannot do anything about clubs showing an interest in him, secondly have we even said we would sell, thirdly does he want to leave and finally if offered say 5/6 million we would be daft not to take it.

Town, QPR, Charlton, Rotherham and Portsmouth are all reported to be keen on Swindon captain Nathan Thompson.

The 26-year-old, a centre-half or right-back, is out of contract and is likely to leave the County Ground on a free transfer this summer following the Robins’ relegation to League Two, with the Blues and the other four clubs among those showing interest, according to Sky Sports News.

Chester-born Thompson, who is 5ft 9½in tall, came through the youth system at Swindon and has made 173 starts and 14 sub appearances, scoring four goals, since breaking into the first team in 2010/11.
Can't say I know anything at all about this guy other than he looks short for a CB and we already have potentially 3 RB's at the club and he has just been relegated.

Ipswich Town are set to move in for Barnsley’s Marley Watkins after he left the club according to a report from the Sudbury Mercury.

The 26-year-old forward has been a favourite at Oakwell ever since he signed for them at 2015, being key as they got promoted to the Sky Bet Championship via the play-offs last season. He continued to be a great player for the Tykes as they surprised everyone by finishing in the top-half of the Championship with them even challenging for a spot in the play-offs at one part during the year.

However Watkins’ contract is set to expire in the summer and while Barnsley have done all they can to keep the player, he has turned down their offers of a new deal and has elected to leave the club. He did end up saying an emotional goodbye to the club on Twitter, but his departure means that a whole host of Barnsley’s Championship rivals are now looking into signing him.

One of the teams that are jumping at the chance to sign Watkins are Ipswich. They have been interested in the forward for a long time and have had offers rejected for him in the last two transfer windows. Their head coach Mick McCarthy is also on record of being a big admirer of the player. But with him now being a free agent, Ipswich are set to move in and try and sign him without having to pay any fee, something which will delight the frugal club.

I'm still not sure he's any good or not, I know he came in late but he's had time to get a settled side which he hasn't, perhaps given the summer to get his own players in he might succeed, but I don't think he will be here long.

I wonder how our Mick would cope with our Chinese owners and there billions. the language would be interesting.

Terry Butcher says he thinks Town have now missed the boat on this player. With bigger Clubs ( Celtic and some PL clubs) interesetd in him. Says Town wont now be able to match the wages that other Clubs can pay.

How unusual for Town to miss out on a player !

And how unusual for Terry Butcher to have an accurate managerial opinion.

If that's the case Liz Butcher makes me f**king sick tbh. What else but offer over a million quid were we supposed to do ? Offer 2 3 4 5 million until we get the player who is worth what we actually offered for him in the first place ? It pisses me off that these "experts" always have plenty of negative sh*t to say, quite what we can do to stop better off teams beating us to the signature is beyond me. As Marko says he was hardly a f**king managerial genius just the same as that loud mouth prat Mills.

Here's the "inflammatory" comments that Butcher made.

"McCarthy said in March that he may look to go back in for the 26-year-old, who scored 10 goals in his debut Championship campaign this season – including in both games against Ipswich – but Butcher believes, with a number of clubs interested, the Blues boss may miss out.

“I think he will now go to a club that will be able to offer him a lot more than what Ipswich can pay him,” said Butcher.

“I would love to see him here and had Town got him (Watkins) here in January, he would certainly have helped get us higher up the league table.

“Unfortunately, I think he will be moving on to bigger and better things now as there are a number of quality clubs looking at him. Celtic have been linked with him in Scotland and then there is interest from some high-end Championship clubs and even the Premier League.”

Hardly sticking the knife into the club - just stating a fact or opinion.

So what next? Re-writing our club history so that the Mick McCarthy era looks better? Tearing down Sir Alf's / Bobby's statues and erecting one of Sir Mick?

Why not - seems like ex-players like Butcher and Mills are now to blame for spreading negativity around the club - just like the shitty fans :(

Woah, dude, back THAT bus up a bit. Jaysus H, no wonder Internet discussions escalate and blow up very quickly.

All I was REALLY saying was that if there is anyone out there who's a fking specialist at "missing the boat" on deals, Terry Butcher is the very man........, and so, his "accurate" statement.

For the record, if Mick does vacate, (anything can happen after a holiday in the sun) please do not hire Butcher. You'll know what a relegation scrap REALLY is if that happens.

Hallam, not shooting you for it, far from it, but the fact remains I just don't get his point, how were we supposed to make Barnsley sell ? I get that he may get better offers now but the comment Butcher makes of "missed the boat" makes it sound like we did something wrong, to me it is just stirring up an already difficult situation for MM, I didnt see any of these bigger clubs offering to sign him in January when a fee was involved so I guess that all but one of them will have "missed the boat" as well ?

Tang I am not sure where Sir Bobby & Sir Alf come into this, they were who made this club great and I never heard either of them coming out with stupid comments which can stir things up after they had left the club, they had more integrity than that. We all know that the players of today wouldn't lace the likes of Butcher's boots but things are tough enough as it is without being constantly reminded of how Mick fucks everything up he tries to do, it just isn't the case, in any case Butcher even mentions some Premier interest too so how the hell are we expected to win the chase ? We offered over a Million in January and it wasn't accepted, he is now going for zilch, we were the only ones to offer money and still we are in the wrong, incredible.

In true Keegan style I will "love it" if we end up signing Watkins and actually not "miss the boat" oh what a tit some will look then.

on.the subject of transfers. Someone on TWTD made an interesting comment...supported by the FA official. listing of player transfers and fees paid etc. That Town didn't actually get any feed for Murphy!!
The last player listed in the FA list where a fee was received by ITFC was Mings to Bournemouth!

Again I don't know how true this is. But if it was a free transfer that would partly explain why we struggled to sign a replacement cos we had no bloody money....but Evans had offloaded a likely sizable wage commitment.
