I thought it was odd how having commited himself to Town so strongly in the Summer we then see this nonsense raising it's head.Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has denied reports claiming he almost joined Burnley this summer.
Former Poland Under-21 international Bialkowski joined the Tractor Boys in 2014 from Notts County and he has been a regular first team fixture ever since, making 103 league appearances.
It had been claimed the 30-year-old shot-stopper, who had a six-year spell at Southampton from 2006-2012, was on the verge of joining Premier League outfit Burnley this summer.
The keeper was widely quoted on Wednesday in an interview reportedly given to Polish broadcaster TVP Sport, in which he said he almost made the switch to Turf Moor but the clubs could not agree terms.
But in a tweet after a Town fan had remarked on the story, Bialkowski dismissed the claims, saying: "Just to make it clear, I have never had any contact with Burnley so no idea where that come from."
The Clarets' number one Tom Heaton is currently on the sidelines and this has provided an opportunity for Nick Pope, who has deputised well over the past couple of weeks.

Don't care, just glad there's been a post on the board. Deathly quiet due to international week.
Look forward to the Championship returning and hope Didsy is fit.

If Bialkowski discloses he's had no contact or negotiation with the Turf Moor outfit than that's good enough. See no reason to lie and the players word would appear to confirm it.
Looking at the bigger picture it's not without the bounds of impossibility that it could ever come to pass. Last season was garbage and if the player had indeed received an offer to feature in the EPL with a potential improved salary or chance of top level play than it would surely have been under consideration.
Furthermore players committing themselves to a team then making a switch elsewhere are hardly unique. Bottom line the player acknowledges that no approach was made, either way he's one of this teams best assets, has proved invaluable on occasion.
