Looks like we could lose Bart in the Jan window, as Palace are set to make a move for one of the best keepers outside the Premiership, but will mick sell???? or will he boost the squad with a couple of loan defenders.

What we need is a player on form who is match fit.

Wrong side of 30yrs for “ future” but if fit could plug the hole we have in the middle definitely.

Rumors and links, nothing more. Suppose this did come to pass, not a player that you could envisage would have a desired effect on the team. As stated age is against him, and while experience is useful, just couldn't picture him around here.
Furthermore if Bialkowski has to leave in January (would obviously prefer to see remain) then anything less than ten million would appear derisory. Recent activities have confirmed once again the transfer market's in a bizarre state, and in truth by today's valuations he could command anything up to £15 m. Allowing him away on the cheap will only bring further disdain on the relevant authorities within this club.

10 Million for Bart ? Not a chance in hell, 4 maybe.

We sold Wright for what was it, 6 Million 15 years back or thereabouts, that would resemble about double in today's market.
Sorry but four million seems offensive, granted it's the Championship League and he's no Lev Yashin, but remains arguably one of the best assets this team possesses and has gained valuable points for the club in recent season. Can only hope this comes to nothing, wait until the summer and weigh up options then, a January departure seems almost unthinkable.

Thankfully he's no Lev Yashin. He's dead. Bart dies, Ipswich get f*ck all.

I'd imagine we'd get some kind of insurance money, and probably more than McCarthy would ever get his hands on otherwise, though it would probably just be spent on some nefarious world cup tickets for Evans to flog.marko69 wrote:Thankfully he's no Lev Yashin. Re: January 2018 Transfer Window ... thoughts please ...
I’d like to see a couple of new players arrive if only to freshen the squad up a bit. The obvious area to strengthen would be the defence which has looked lightweight for most of the season. Apart from Nottingham Forest all other Championship teams who’ve conceded more goals than Town are all involved in the relegation battle, and if our goal scoring dries up that’s exactly where we could be heading for. With this in mind MM should be looking to either sign or loan in a couple of experienced mean defenders.

I see we have now not accepted a bid from Peterborough for Kiefer Moore, so it looks like its up to Rotherham to bid better than £250'000, as there are other clubs interested in the 6ft 10 striker, Charlton, Bradford, Scunny, I recon he will go to Rotherham now.

By all accounts he was a guest of the club at one of the home games over Xmas so you never know. I just wonder how much of his reputed 80K a week we will pay.

Colback could be an excellent call IMO to help out for a couple of months with CM issues.
On a related note what's with Adeyemi? Is he ever coming back?

Now lets see, McGoldrick to Brum ??? nah, maybe to Cardiff, if so the deal should be Didzy, Mick & Tel to go one way, Warnock & Sol Bamba to Ipswich, I think that would be a better deal for Ipswich all round, not only a good manager and centre back in the swap, but a manager with a bit more of a clue on organising a team.

Well he needs to start organising his team a bit more as they have just lost Four in a row and are on the slide, One win in Six.

big no thanks to Warnock anyway, never liked him. I wont deny hes done a good job at Cardiff (although they are hardly on fire at the moment...) but hes not my cup of tea. Hes another from the same bottle as Mick.
I still want a change, but I have to say I have not been so "anti Mick" this season, whilst he does frustrate the hell out of me at times I can also appreciate what he has done for the cub. He (IMO) made some good signings in the summer considering the budget he was working from. Its been a lot of bad luck to have so many injuries. There have been games, especially away from home, where we just fail to make any sort of attack which is shades of what we watched last season.
But Warnock? No thank you I would just stick with what we have. I saw Nigel Clough mentioned to, again he has done a fantastic job at Burton, but im not sure I would want him. Comes across as a bit of a bore, looks down in the dumps and moans a lot, I don't think hes the right fit for us at this moment in time. Whilst no doubt a risk I would still go for someone young, someone up and coming, I like the guys at Lincoln, they are sitting in the L2 play offs at the moment. I don't know if they could cut it here in this league on our budget but I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

Similar to Mick then BM, but they are higher up than us, and their all round game is better, and like us have around 9 players out injured, but if not Warnock, then deffo swap Didzy for Sol Bamba, as its at the back we need strengtheningBluemike wrote:Well he needs to start organising his team a bit more as they have just lost Four in a row and are on the slide, One win in Six.

I reckon around £5k as we're skint, and I cant see Newcastle paying all his wages, when Jack was with us he was cutting his teeth to get more game time, I can see him landing up at Middleburgh, they could afford his wages, and he's Geordie so wont want to move down to Suffolk again.Bluemike wrote:By all accounts he was a guest of the club at one of the home games over Xmas so you never know. Do Boro need a CM?
I would have thought that we might pay quite a lot for a decent CM in our current situation. We only need him for half a season. Might be a good way to use the Moore money......

Supposedly £750,000 for Moore, not bad considering we bought for £20,000 a year ago...

For the fans, it's only a good deal if Mick can replace the quality of Bart with similar quality.hallamblue wrote:It looks like Bart is Palace bound for a reported £4m .

As far as the money is concerned, with an owner who's put knots in the purse strings since the world class Dipshitskin was at Portman Road, it doesn't really matter whether it's 4,5,6M.
Same with Moore. Yes, 750K from 20K is an absolutely superb piece of business. But with Mevans in charge of the dough, it means not a lot. Maybe his catering bill is paid until April.

Re: January 2018 Transfer Window ... thoughts please ...
Cracking business to get 750k for a player who cost us nothing and in my opinion looks out of his depth at this level. Next up a few quid for Didsy who will leave for nothing in 5 months time.
