I don't think that would be too hard to organise, its more a question of if i want the hassle of it, the number of contacts would be a doddle.number 9 wrote:I agree with you, Herf...but ITFC supporters are renowned for being the nicest supporters in the league. I wish someone with many contacts could organize a protest. That c*ck Evan's is getting off way too easy, imho!herforder wrote:Coming after a poor run of results, yesterday’s dire performance has provided a tipping point for both supporters and local media. Those earlier critical comments, opinions and frustrations, that never completely went away, have resurfaced with added intensity, passion and anger.
Whilst MM, and some players, have to accept responsibility - albeit mitigated by a horrendous injury situation - they are employees of the Club’s owner. They reflect his ambition and commitment, operate within the financial constraints he imposes and, we are led to believe, do so within his strategic 5 point plan. But all of that raises significant questions and concerns that, in truth, have never been satisfactorily explained to supporters from day 1 of ME’s ownership.
Never, then, has there been a greater need for this reclusive individual to recognise that his responsibilities as the custodian of the Club’s history, and the sole arbiter of it’s future, demand that he communicates personally with, and shows respect for, the legion of supporters who represent the heart and soul of the club - and who are not simply unintelligent, turnstile fodder. Whilst what he might say won’t necessarily be what we want to hear, continuing to remain largely silent and aloof is having an increasingly toxic impact, and alienating even the most loyal and stoic supporters. They actually remain largely silent so far as social media etc is concerned; but they will certainly be silent within Portman Road unless this Club recognises the very real crisis that currently exists between it, and it’s supporters.

Watched a good part of it. Frank Nouble - remember him? - played a real blinder. Had a big hand in the Newport equaliser. Good story amongst the gloom!
I only watched a few minutes of highlights but he did look useful as did Jack Marriott putting two past Villa in Peterborough’s shock 3-1 win at Villa Park. If only we could play with some of the passion shown by many teams over this weekend. Likewise quite a few teams chose to take the FA Cup a little more serious this year and as Wrighty said on MOTD, there’s nothing better to get your season back on track than a decent cup win especially for teams without anything else much to play for. Shame nobody told Mick McCarthy about this. For him just another nothing game to use to p*ss off the fans and suck a little more confidence out of the players against a team that had only won once in their previous 9 games.
How much better we’d have all felt had Town been in the hat for tomorrow’s 4th Round draw.
Holy sh*t, is anyone else watching Forest v Arsenal and just seen Forest’s second goal !..... now they’re certainly taking it serious.

Did anyone catch the comment son the BBC at half time of the Shrewsbury Vs WH match when they discussed Coutinho's transfer? I so hope the powers-that-be at ITFC did!
To paraphrase:
"... Liverpool will need to spend big - but wisely - to replace him..."
"Can they wait until the summer or do they have to move now?"
"If they don't move now then they will have to make a big statement of intent re what will happen in the summer to keep the fans happy. If the owners or manager don't keep the fans on side by proving they listen and understand what they need to do to,it's a slippery slope as they are the future...."
"If the owners or manager don't listen to the fans"? There's a novel idea for our owner and manager to consider. We have people actively doing the opposite to listening and understanding that the fans are the future, not them....!

Picked up some virus just recent, didn't participate in initial game reaction, don't see why this club should inflict further damage or jeopardize health. Rest assured more valuable things in life than a bunch of sorry asses who once again let people down or made a mess of things.
Last year was bad enough, all that bullshit with Lincoln City (no disgrace to themselves, they deserved that shock victory but we really should have made it through at first attempt) but when there's the matter of a significant anniversary and you seem to make no attempt to honor it, then of course there were will justified castigation. Fair enough a strong squad was selected - one that you would deem good enough for potential progress - but oh seriously what's the f**king use..
Point being, there's 10 pages of reaction telling it doubtless like it is on TWTD - no offense to those who put comment here also - and bottom line, seems the team was sh*t once again, yet again examples of lack of interest and nobody seemed to realize whatever importance entailed for the game, we leave the competition at the earliest opportunity.
Predicted a 1 - 0 away score before start of game, I got pretty good instincts on occasion - envisaged a considerable lack of interest and the visitors taking it from us - was not disappointed. Say what you like about McCarthy's sorry as* and the players involved, at least they're consistent.
On a final word, no venture past Round Five for any Town team for twenty-five years. Been with every one, that last eight appearance in '93 is a worrying statistic, in truth this teams FA Cup record since 1978 is pretty sub-standard, Saturday only exemplified how we fall short time and again.
Don't know where the obligatory 'we can now concentrate on the league' came into place following Sheffield's victory - doubtless the usual names would have been associated, but for whatever planet you're orbiting, you need to realize that in all probability there won't be no goddamn league for us to concentrate on. Bottom line, a cup run would have been a nice distraction, probably not a repeat of the euphoria of 40 years back, but once again those involved have ensured we won't know and it's another early exit and grounds for regret and missed opportunity.
You got to wonder if it's all worth it

Maybe there's a parallel universe where Ipswich Town is top of the Prem and favourites to win the cup, Jude? Wouldn't that be nice???saint jude wrote:Picked up some virus just recent, didn't participate in initial game reaction, don't see why this club should inflict further damage or jeopardize health. I must agree with most posts regarding the lack of goalscorers in the starting 11. It shows how intent Mick was on winning the game. The club has been spiraling downwards for years now, since the Cobbolds left the ownership the club has lost most of its "homely" feeling towards supporters. Subsequent owners have viewed it as a sidebar to their assets...... I'm waiting for a Chinese magnate to come along and snap it up and inject some much needed cash for a manager to spend....... not necessarily Mr Mick.
