Great player. Everyone, including the youngsters of the early 80's, knew Cyrille Regis. And he was a very popular panini football sticker. Easily had 4 of you Cyrille!
RIP.

RIP Cyrillie
Remember watching you play against Town on several occasions including the FA Cup semi-final at Highbury in 78.

I remember that game too Shed, one of my all time favourite away days watching Town play, and in many ways more enjoyable than the Wembley final itself.
Very sad to learn of Cyrille Regis passing away this morning, taken far too early. RIP and condolences to your family and close friends.

So sad to learn that this great player, and man, has passed. He suffered vile, racist, bigotry with great dignity, responding by lettiing his talent on the pitch do the talking. A role model and hero for many who followed in his footsteps, and rightly recognised by the award of the MBE for all that he achieved, both on and off the pitch.
Condolences to his family and many friends, who will feel the pain of his premature loss profoundly. RIP Cyrillie - you made a difference.

Echo Bluemike....... well said, Herforder.
The 70s/80s was indeed horrific times on the terraces and guys like Cyrille, Justin & John Fashanu, Mark Walters etc etc, really were put through some obscene nonsense. People sometimes say that the world is getting worse, but in so many ways it's getting better when remembering back then.
