Re: RIP Bobby Ferguson
Didn't realise Bobby Ferguson was only 5 years younger than Sir Bobby. Looked way younger than SBR back in the day. Quite stunned to hear he was 80.
RIP Bobby Ferguson.

Re: RIP Bobby Ferguson
After Sir Bobby Robson, only Scott Duncan, Sir Alf Ramsay, George Burley and current manager Mick McCarthy managed Town for a longer period than Bobby Ferguson who remained in post for almost 5yrs after being recommended by SBR as his replacement in 1982.
In total Bobby Ferguson served Town for almost 17yrs having been appointed to the backroom staff by Sir Bobby in 1970. I must admit I remember him more in his role as Sir Bobby’s assistant than I do as our manager. Ferguson was replaced by John Duncan in 1987.
RIP Mr Ferguson, one of the most loyal of coaching staff to work at Portman Road.

Blimey Charney, that almost got me a bit choked up and I'm too young to remember him!
RIP Bobby and thank you for your part in making this club what it is today.

Took over the team as it started to break up. Would have been tough for him to see this but Did a great job with what he had. RIP Bobby

Re: RIP Bobby Ferguson
Whoever took over from Robson from '82 was always going to have a large void to fill, but people will remember the League Cup run and relegation year directly after foremost of his tenure. Sadly the great team at the turn of the '80's was to be slowly broken away and past names moved on but he remained dedicated to the cause and was sad to learn of his passing, so soon after Mr Phillips also.
Best to the family, condolences to all others who remain close. Would expect a minutes reflection for the Millwall home game in respect for his time here.
