Got news a few moments ago that former England international Ray Wilkins has sadly passed on, following a cardiac arrest at the weekend.
Wilkins, 61, had been undergoing treatment at Saint George's emergency center in London but lost his battle within the last hour. Take this opportunity to offer condolences to his immediate family and the clubs most associated with his career.
I remember him as a player in the 80's and 90's with an array of different club sides including those overseas and scored a memorable strike in the 1983 FA Cup Final while involved with Manchester United. In later years he turned to media and TV commentary and took up a number of managerial posts, some involving past playing careers. Sorry again to learn of this news.

very sad news, I heard he was in a critical condition. Has had his issues in recent years with alcohol addiction but I always hoped he managed to sort himself out for good as always seemed like a decent bloke. Anyone ive ever heard who has met him personally had nothing but nice words to say about him.
RIP Ray, thoughts are with his family, far too young to be taken

Was a midfield maestro and a definite difference maker in his short spell at Hibernian....., the space he’d create to be able to assist goals was incredible...... creating any space in Scottish football is an achievement in itself.
You’ll be missed, Ray..... thoughts with the family.
RIP Ray Wilkins
