It's this type of over-thinking that really pisses me off about the national team's approach. I can only imagine the complicated tactics that will be and have in the past been formulated to seemingly prepare the squad for another failure. It's a penalty FFS! Get your arse on the spot and blast the bloody ball in the back of the net!!! Don't be a pussy!!!

Before we start worrying about penalty shootouts we have to get out of the group first.
Was in Gelsenkirchen in 2006 when we out to Portugal and before they even started taking them we were all convinced we were out.

“Having more than one “go to” penalty.”

WTF is that ^^^? Take it from the corner flag?

With you, 9....... sounds like there isn’t a shred of confidence anywhere to be seen.

Default position ought to be 'beat the buggers in open play'.

No need to have any 'go to' penalties then

There is more likelihood of seeing Rossi running the Cole Skuse fan club than there is of England winning anything.

I think I'd need something a little stronger than that!

I can't agree with that Mike, I'm pretty sure they'll win against Panama and maybe even Tunisia if they get the rub of the green.

There is a gray area here. What if Rossi creates the "Cole Skuse is a Fanny" fan club?

Now we're back on England winning the World Cup thing?! Hmmm, not liking that at all!

You could caption that pic of Sterling and Southgate.

Southgate: Yes, Bla bla bla, I do think, bla bla pish bla, we’ll win the World Cup.
Sterling (looking, thinking): You fkn better play me you wafflin pr*ck!

Advise watching us crash and burn in tonight’s Eurovision Song(?) Contest. Good practice for the World Cup!

:) Marko, never came across McGlashan before. Noticed another from McGlashan - Scottish Inventions. Brilliant.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND-SVKrvCxs

The amount of times I've come across ex-pat Scots in bars abroad giving me a list of things they've invented.

Even took credit for inventing the English "poooofs and peerverts - deviiaants - or bastards.. or girls - we put them down south and said - right - you can be English!!!

We'll look forward to your support at the World Cup, then :)

Last time out was somewhat impressive. You'll recall a game against Belgium where we (The United States) played with flair and ambition and were unfortunate to lose in a game of some epic proportion. Remember taking some considerable pride that night even in defeat. Unfortunately such instances will not be replicated this time around due in failure to qualify.

Not only that you got teams the caliber and recognition of Italy and Netherlands omitted and all hosted in a nation that many neutrals fail to recognize (i.e. accommodating the greatest event the game can provide). There were even mention it could all be called off a month of two back regards issues and unstabilities within Russia but don't believe there was any real danger of such a thing coming to effect.

Best guess winners Germany

Team to surprise Portugal

Preferred overall win Argentina

Hey Tang......., this is worth watching all the way through......., but I always love proving that McGlashan (Jack Docherty) is in fact a Hibee......, put this forward to 1:50. We Hibees really are a bunch of ignorant bstds!!

Just to add. To the tune of "Don't cry for me Argentina".......,

Sing along:

"GO FK YOURSELVES........, ARGENTINA!"

Jaysus H.

True story in the Plumbing merchants....... World Cup Sweepstake......, guy I know well at the counter getting served. He gets asked if he wants to play:

Him: I never win these things. Go on then. Give me a ticket. Hope I get someone good like Holland.
Me: Yep. Im really REALLY hoping you get Holland as well.

Marko
I was at Hampden in 1976 for the Scotland v England game when Clemence let Dalglish’s shot go through his legs.
That was a classic.
