I would love Tilt, he is the final piece of the jigsaw for me, that said I have a feeling that a surprise signing may well happen, if Garner goes it could well be Windass, just get Jackson confirmed and we are nearly set for the long haul ahead.
TOTO & TILT sounds like 70's pop group, but they would be my favored pairing.
Sounds more like a Supergroup.

Just need to get Curtis Tilt and I would be happy, obviously Windass would be fab too but can't see that happening although offloading Garner to Bolton and maybe Sears somewhere too and you never know.

Tilt deal not happening !!!
Ipswich Town are ready to admit defeat in their bid to sign defender Curtis Tilt from Blackpool.

Blues manager Paul Hurst identified the 26-year-old as one of his top transfer targets after taking over at Portman Road this summer, with the two clubs in dialogue throughout much of the off-season.

The defender, originally valued by his club at £1million, remains keen on the move Portman Road and handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a deal, but the Blues have found negotiations with Blackpool tough.

Two bids were rejected, up to a value of £650,000, and while it at one stage looked as if an agreement was close, no compromise was found.

Ultimately, owner Owen Oyston was adament Tilt would not be sold.

Former Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer has praised the defender’s attitude during the process but, despite admiring his ability, is though to have been keen for a sale to go through in order to fund new players and help in the Tangerines’ search for a new training ground.

Bowyer resigned earlier this week following showdown talks with Blackpool owner Oyston.

Hurst is still known to want at least one more defender ahead of tomorrow’s 5pm deadline and, while a last-minute return for Tilt should not be discounted, there is a real sense the Blues’ pursuit has come to an end.

The Blues have been linked with a loan move for Declan John of Rangers, who has slipped down the pecking order at Ibrox, but a move for the left-back is only likely to be considered should Dane Jonas Knudsen move on.

Knudsen started at left-back in Paul Hurst’s first game in charge of the Blues, a 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn, but has himself been subject of transfer interest.

Stoke City have been tracking the Dane this summer, while Middlesbrough and Aston Villa are both thought to see Knudsen as a potential alternative to Bristol City’s Joe Bryan.

Villa look set to win that race, with Steve Bruce’s men expected to announce the signing of Bryan later today.

You know what they say Mike, 'The proof of the pudding, etc'.

As you rightly say, it's been a bit chaotic and almost unheard of for many years. I know Hurst has bought from lower divisions and it will be interesting to see whether or not all his signings will make the grade. I certainly hope so and admire him for setting his stall out so quickly and confidently after his arrival.

I think the dreaded 'gel' word is going to be bandied about in the next few weeks but I am happy with what he has done and look forward to it all coming good.

Oh, has McCarthy got a job yet?

You know what Billy, I look at the team I posted on Marvin's thread and I am genuinely excited by it, yes it will take a while to "Gel" but that team looks damn exciting too, I think Hurst has done wonders in such a short space of time, we all owe it to him to get behind the boys and help make it work, set backs along the way but this team looks capable at this level.

I'm also excited by it all, there are still huge question marks over the defence for me, but Rome wasn't built in a day and if we come out of the window stronger than we went in and with a healthy profit to boot, then it can only be deemed a success.

I don't think we have fully replaced Webster or Waghorn, but the overall quality of the side looks to have improved and it will be a breathe of fresh air if we don't have to rely on one or two stand out players to pull us through the season.

I know you were slightly underwhelmed by the Blackburn game Mike (you were probably just looking forward to it a bit too much?!), but I loved the intent that we showed and the new philosophy will certainly be a far more entertaining one. It could take a while for it to all click and the best team to emerge, I can't see us pulling up trees this season, but as expectations are fairly low, Hurst will have time and as long as we stay safe this year and keep improving, then the future looks fairly rosy.

Yes Ricco, I probably was expecting too much last week, especially after the opening twenty Minutes when we bossed it, that said there were positives to take from it, not least Edwards performance & Edun's cameo. I think we will be good to watch this season and a top half finish and a win against the scum would be deemed acceptable this time around for me, not to mention a decent run in one of the cups. nobody fancied Cardiff last season so you just never know.

Yep looking good shame about Tilt but overall a great window for a change.
Don't mind if it takes a while because this season will be a refreshing change, just a shame I will have to wait until next Saturday to see the latest signings.

I can’t see much else happening today after Jackson. There’s a 5pm deadline so it’s only 5 hours away.

The loan windows there. I can see a number of our players loaned out. Maybe ones who are unwanted or the young kids who could do with a year at a League 1/2 team instead of going backwards in the U-23’s. We’ve got so many midfielders now where we only need 3 midfielders in Hursts system. I can’t see how all of Nydam, Dozzel and Downes can even be on the bench. That’s not even taking into account the Sicknote 3 - Huws, Adeyemi and Bishop.

Do we need Windass .... not that bothered. We have plenty of attacking midfielders. He’s not really a striker.

Bad news about Woolfy.. 6 week’s out. Pity, it’s good to have someone young like him as back up with a real sniff of a first team place. know nothing about Oshilaja. I bet Chambo will sleep a bit better now Tilts not coming.

Tilt could still come on loan ??

As for woolfy yes it's bad news and kind of makes a mockery of the theory that our training methods etc in the past have been the cause of such injuries. They are really just down to bad luck.

Like you tang I am not overly bothered by Windass, no better than Garner, so keep Garner !!

Well.... the Winds of Change have blown through the Ipswich Town dressing room and now it's time to get down to work and make something of the squad. Hopefully the new faces will be eager to please...... we shall see. Good luck this season boys.... lets go!

Rumours are that Garner has signed for Wigan.

No problem for me. I couldn’t see how he would fit here in the new system. We’re going for one up front with attacking midfieders and wide men. Just a problem if it’s true it’s last minute.

Lacking a bit in strickers now,I for one would like Garner to stay.Sears is a liability, the newbies are not proven at this level, might be a risk that pays off but we need to keep Garner for his experience, he's an asset if he stays fit.

Could be Garner has gone, if they beat the deadline

Who scored last Saturday? Wide players.

I’m pretty sure we’ll have more attacking players on the pitch even with one striker. And we’ll try to press further up the park.

I’m more concerned about getting another CB. Good money for a 30 year old and we could use that in the loan window.

Wide players scored as harrison up front was busy running around like a headless chicken.
