McAuley would be fantastic.
How about Delaney also to link up with K-Nood to REALLY cement a Shyte defence?

It would appear the club are still in profit from the summer transfer deals and finds its self in this pickle over a centre half because of 250k.
We should have given Blackpool what they wanted for Tilt. The lad clearly wanted to join and the club clearly wanted him.
I wonder if we will go back for him in January?

Are you joking, Ando? One September weekend in Blackpool for Tilt and he’ll be there for good. Toffee dummy’s, kiss me quick hats, Tower Caberet nights, etc? Ipwich will need to up the price to drag him away from that paradise.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
I’ve read that as well as interest in McCauley we’re still interested in Deji Oshilaja (AFC Wimbledon skipper).
Whether Tilt or Oshilaja would make it in the Championship is yet to be seen, but if we really want these players then we just might have to pay that little extra. We missed them before the transfer deadline weeks ago, but it seems we keep on going back to try and get them. Just seems both desperate and a bit cheap to me.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
I think the Tilt issue is down to how that tw*t Oysten is conducting himself and continually changing the goal posts, my understanding now is that he wants a far bigger wedge up front than what was agreed, don't think the fee is the issue.

Please please please bring in Walters and McAuley. Class additions, both intelligent and highly experienced. Would tighten us up inference and attack.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
TBH I think both McAuley and Walters would be good additions, just for their experience.
For them to be there advising the youngsters who are making the step up, there's no substitute for experience.
It's ok with all the youngsters that we've signed, but these two could be the missing pieces, even if it is for 6 months

That’s true but he would not be far from Yarmouth and Felixstowe. I’m sure the club could get him a caravan at either venue.

If be surprised if we can get Batth. He is also linked with clubs like Leeds, sheff wed and Bristol city I believe. Not sure if we would be his first choice but If pulled if off I'd be very happy.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
At this moment in time it looks like we could end up not getting a CB in.
If that turns out to be the case then considering that is the one area where we need cover then imo it would be a big let down to say the least.

Rumour is we’re going to sign Matthew Pennington from Everton. On loan with Leeds last year.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
Is he something special? The reason i ask is the point was made that we needed experienced loans, this smacks of desperation when all else fails.

More championship experience than Tilt and Oshilaja. More legs than McAuley. Played in Merseyside Derby. Although often injured and only 6ft 1. Don’t see him playing over Chambo and Nsiala.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
Often injured , it's a repetitive theme, Jordan Graham, often injured, Jon Walters, often injured, Matthew Pennington, often Injured. Obviously will give these guys 100% support but I can't lie, I am very underwhelmed and disappointed with the loan appointments and I dont believe any of them were our intended targets.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
im not sure on this one but I guess it has come down to a bit of desperation. I think I would have preferred Mcauley in all honesty.
Lets hope he stays fit, I also felt like this when we signed Connolly last season, just felt it was a last min desperate move and he turned out to be a decent signing so ill keep my fingers crossed Pennington does too.

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
I was never a fan of Walters, but I think his experience may benefit Harrison and Jackson. I do remember Walter's positional presence wasn't bad, and I believe he did quite well holding the ball up...which could only benefit Jackson and Harrison running on to a through ball, maybe.
Graham seems like he's searching for a new lease on life, so as long as he stays fit we should be able to benefit from his renewed interest.
I don't know much about Pennington, but at least he has premier league experience.
Do you think that's it for the transfer window???

Re: Transfer Window Rumours 2018/19
Does sound like desperate last minute signing when we’re unable to get players in.
It’s not as if we didn’t have time to get a centre back in and we’ve obviously were prepared to put nearly a million on the table for another CB. I did feel this smacked of Connolly last year. He turned out OK, but remember we were signing him as a RB/CB, not a midfielder.
If this guy is 23, Everton then must think something of him as usually they’re let go by that age. Dunno... just a bit u
nderwhelmed.

Underwhelmed yes, but at least everyone can now focus on Paul Hurst and see if he can work League One Shrewsbury wonders on Championship Ipswich Town. Can he mould this September - December lot into a winning side.
Over to you Paul, starting Sunday.
