Tayo Edun

Post by Bluemike » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:18 pm

Town are closing in on the loan signing of Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun.

According to HITC Sport, the 20-year-old is undergoing a medical ahead of a move to the Blues.

We understand that while that's premature, the loan should be completed tomorrow in time for the season opener against Blackburn at Portman Road on Saturday.

Edun, who was previously linked with Town early this month, was on trial with MLS outfit Portland Timbers earlier in the summer and had also been reported to be interesting League One clubs Barnsley and Shrewsbury in addition to Town.

The Islington-born youngster, who is contracted to Fulham until the summer of 2020, has had limited first team experience with the Cottagers, playing twice in the Caribao Cup last season and later clocking up two Championship appearances as Fulham headed towards promotion back to the Premier League.

He has represented England from U17 through to U20 levels and was in the U19 squad, alongside both Andre Dozzell and new loanee Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, that triumphed in the European U19 Championship 12 months ago in Georgia, where he was named in the team of the tournament despite being sent off in the 2-1 final win over Portugal after collecting two yellow cards.

Edun, who is left-footed and can play in central midfield, left-back or in a wide midfield role, made his senior debut for Fulham almost two years in an EFL Cup win at Leyton Orient and also featured in his side’s subsequent ties in the same competition against Middlesbrough and Bristol City.

I know nothing of him but we have been linked with him for some time now so welcome aboard the Paul Hurst revolution.

Revolution is the right word ... If all the potential transfers ( ins and out )that are on the cards are true. Over the next week we might see Waghorn, Garner and Knudsen go. I can see this young kid being back up for Kenlock if Knudsen goes.

Tayo Edun? Is that his name or is it a conundrum and we need to guess it?

I think his real name is Yoat Nude, but his agent made him change it because he sounded like an Amish porn star.

Sounds like the lad made a real difference when he came on. MM loved him (I thought it was a wind up when I saw he was our pundit).

He really did make a difference, the guys on the goals show last night spoke of him too and Liam Rosenior said he is some player and at times is untouchable so we may have a little gem on our hands.

BOOM BOOM BOOM....Now let me hear you say TAYO.....TAYO !!!!!

How crap was Mick McCarthy as a pundit, even more boring than his football.
