I love the way we all think we are experts at man-management of Championship footballers, despite the fact that it looks suspiciously like PH wasn't
Honestly we don't really know if Doig was a problem or if Hurst wasn't able to get the best out of the squad motivationally. However what we have got in Lambert is a manager who has experience with players at this level and above. This was obviously MMs major (and I think underestimated) skill also. If we are to stay up I think this will be the crucial factor. For sure one to two new players would help in Jan but the group appears to need to be motivated to work as a unit and for sure Lambert has this skill in his armoury.

Many assuming Lambert is going to rip into them. I think he will do the opposite to be quite honest as clearly the teams confidence is on the floor. One or two may get it from him but for most I think he will be putting his arm round them and reminding them they have reached this level for a reason. Situations like this is where man management comes in.
