10 million pound war chest?

Post by Tangfastic » Sun Oct 28, 2018 2:07 pm

This is only The Sun on Sunday speculation.... but it was stated that Lambert was lured here by the promise of a 10 million pound warchest.

Don’t really believe that from the reliability of the source.... as well as how Evans has conducted business in the last five years.

I just bloody hope, though, that Evans has woken up a bit to realise he’s got to be serious in supporting the manager financially. I’m pretty sure Hurst brought in a bit more money that he spent last summer.

I don’t know Lambert’s character, but I get the impression he’s not a soft touch. Hopefully, he’ll be in Evans’ earhole demanding money for players. It’s not like we need to be big, irresponsible spenders.... but to bring in genuinely decent players we need to spend. Otherwise, it’s Championship cast-offs or lower league players again.

If true, a 10 million war chest to save the clubs skin, ........ but a few pence pre-C for challenging promotion? What’s that aw aboot, Mevans?

Again, if true, this proves he’s content with Championship football, and further confirms the original visionary is correct (Mach Polish Blue) ———-> that Mevans is the number one issue at this club.

Even if there is 10 million, who will want to join a club that could be heading to League 1?

Well I hope it's true but the sun & the daily mail are well known for spouting utter garbage.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it's true and honestly some cash will need to be splashed if we are going to stay up. I'm sure Lambert is smart enough to see that and I'm sure that he will be on a nice bonus to achieve it. Put yourself in his shoes, why would he take the job if he didn't feel he had a chance to achieve it.

By the way that doesn't have to be new cash either. I imagine that there will be stage payments due on Jan 1 from one or two of our sales.

The only way we Lambert would get anything close to that would be with the sale of Andre Dozzell, otherwise forget it.
