Re: Ipswich Town vs Preston North End Preview & Matchday Thread
I think it will be interesting to see what affect, if any, PL has had on the players after just a week working with them. I don't think anyone expects instant results, but changes in attitude, confidence etc may be evident.

My coat has 9 buttons. But I can only fasten eight.
Sorry. Bit Tommy Cooper in the match thread.

Never saw Roberts getting in the team. Good luck to him. No point in trying to guess a Town line up in these times.

Is that 4-3-3 then?

Re: Ipswich Town vs Preston North End Preview & Matchday Thread
Just read Sky preview....... Ex Hibs loanee Brandon Barker could be playing (or come on as a sub) for Preston. Good player down the left and he will cause problems. Hopefully the defence is alert today.

4-5-1 converting to 4-3-3 when required. Looks good to me. Both flanks with some attacking intent when needed. Spence & Edwards on the right could be threatening and give the Preston defence something to worry about. Good pace in attack. This is the kind of line up that makes sense when you don't have a recognised forward to supply you with goals
Nsiala doesn't make the bench. And that bench is very positive.

Line up:
Town: Bialkowski, Spence, Pennington, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Skuse, Chalobah, Downes, Edwards, Roberts, Spence. Subs: Gerken, Donacien, Jackson, Rowe, Dozzell, Edun, Lankester.
Roberts the big surprise.
Looks likes he’s going for wingers.
No Ward, Nsiala, Nolan in the squad. Looks like a 4-3-3 or whatever.

Jordon Roberts in the starting X1, well I didn’t see that change coming and I know very little about him. I see he has 2 appearances to his name, are these starts or sub appearances ?
I can only assume he’s shown some decent form in training or simply has something in his game that Lambert likes. Let’s hope whatever it is comes good. Our bench looks half decent too.

I think just sub appearances. Out of all the lower league players bought by Hurst ..... he’s probably the lowest of the lower lot. A wild card makes it interesting.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 3:42 pmJordon Roberts in the starting X1, well I didn’t see that change coming and I know very little about him. With a comment like that Tang you’ve just improved his chances of scoring either the opener or winning goal

It looks like we’re going for it, 57% possession, 3 shots and 3 corners and we’ve only been playing 20 mins.
Oops, I forgot stats mean f*ck all.

Freddie deserved that.... run his little tits off.
Bit of a cheap penalty.... if Roberts wasn’t brought down I think the ball would have gone out. Who cares. Roberts is doing well.... he’s winning his fair share of headers. And Downes is now taking corners... no real pace on the ball, but hitting the right areas. Inspired.
Keep up the tempo... we deserve the 3 points at HT.

Much better in so many ways. Roberts made a big difference up front. Need a second.

Sounds like Bialkowski has just committed in my eyes the worst thing you can do as a keeper, moving before a freekick is taken.
Now they're a keeper down, really need to capitalise!

Re: Ipswich Town vs Preston North End Preview & Matchday Thread
Results really gone against us today with wins for Hull City and Reading leaving us 5 points adrift at the bottom.
Our trip to Reading next Saturday all of a sudden gains in importance
